These are fantastic to say the least. So far-I only have one pic from the movie--which was autographed by Ernest Borgnine and has him chewing pout Lee Marvin.
-
Geez, Carl, with one of those puppies you could successfully defend the Alamo. Besides, hang on to your teeth - corn season is coming.
Im a Corn-on-the-cob fan :-)) Also, I was wondering if you can remember something for me dealing with Pork Chop Hill? Ill be making a post about it today in the off topics section. Our favorite Female Keith is responsible for this too ;-))
-
BTW, I know a dealer who sells semi-auto versions of the .30 cal for about $2,600. I would give my teeth for one of those.
-
Thanks for these Bill. I especially love that image of Trini Lopez with that .30 cal MG.

Last night I saw thanks to TCM: The Dirty Dozen w/ Marvin, Borgnine, Ryan, Savalas, Bronson, Walker, Jaeckel, Cassevettes, Bronson, Sutherland, Kennedy, Webber and so many more. God I lone and never tire of that excellent movie.
-
Speaking of Posey, one of my favorite lines in that movie was when he said: "Donald Duck IS Down At The Crossroads With A Machine Gun."
-
Hi B, I noticed that too. I wonder if the scene was a deleated one?
-
Thank you Keith ;-)) I greatly appreciate your help in posting these for me ;-))
-
Just one a great signed pix from this movie. The pix has Lee Marvin in it being chewed out by Ernest Borgnine and George Kennedy is in the background. Photo is signed be Borgnine.

Carl, which one's specifically,
I'll see if I can put them up in the Lee Marvin Thread
Hi Keith, I think the first sequal was called: The Dirty Dozen: The Next Mission? it was done in the early to mid 80s and shortly before Lee Marvin passed away. After that one came I think two more sequals which had Telly Savalas in them. I remember watching at least one fo those and thought it was pretty lousy but, that was back in the mid to late 80s or about 1990 when I saw one of those. -
Thank you Gorch and likewise. I just barely remember about Lee being in the news about such things. I saw the features that included the making of the Dirty Dozen and ill bet they had some wild times in town on off moments ;-))
Hi Keith, do you have anything on the other three Dirty Dozen movies? -
Hi Bill, Gorch,
All three of those movies are great to watch. I also have all three and watch them ocasionally. I never tire of any of them. As a coupe of stations here were playing war movies on them all day long, I woke up to To Hell and Back, ate lunch while Patton was on, and then cought all of Kellys Heroes. ;-)) Today was a great day to be at home and to watch TV. I skipped the two Rambo movies because some station was showing John Waynes: The Alamo ;-))
Thanks for the Dirty Dozen info ;-)) that is some interesting stuff. And looking at that scene where Marvin is driving that SDKFZ-251 Halftrack over the bridge, one wouldn't have been able to know about Lees ""disability"". -
Hi Red/ same here. I always liked Telly Savalas and he did have some great moment as Maggot. Have you ever watched: Battle of the Bulge-where he played Sgt Guffey-the tank commander. He was hilarious.
-
Hi Shortgrub, same here. I took it off my shelf back around Feb and it still is sitting nearby as well as Cross of Iron and Hell Is For Heroes. ;-))
-
Hi Redcap, same here. I felt they all did one heck of a great acting job in the movies. I still as yet have not recognized Hildegard Knef in it when I watch it when played. I KNOW what she looks liek-at least when she was in Decision before Dawn but, apparently either her part(s) were edited out, or she was just a background figure?
Anyway, this is a timeless and tireless movie. -
Hi Redcap--someone having such a list as that will certainly have something historically valuable. I have a list of sorts similar to the one you mentioned only its not for condemned men or prisoners of anykind. However-it is a one-of-a-kind 2 page listing of all the men who served in the 2nd Kompanie of Panzer Regiment 1-as of sometime late Fall 1941. Apparently this listing was kept by someone in the Kompanie who was also the commander of a Panzer III tank and crew. On this list he marks off who "his" men were and what positions they held within "his" tank. Believe it or not but-I got these two documents for what I believe was a VERY cheap price. You just can't get things like this that are highly researchable and from a very good and very well-known and very highly decorated Panzer unit as they were a part of. I know who their (then) current commanding officer was-as well as the name of the just killed in action C.O was. I also know thatone of the Officers in this unit had something to do with General Guderian-perhaps was an aide to him?
Sorry for being off-topic but-The Dirty Dozen is one I never tire of and will always watch when it is played.
PS, I think the man who carried this list in his wallet-was the Kompanie Spiess-or Company Sergeant-Major. -
Hi Keith, this movie too, is one of my all-time most favorites. I'm sure it was one of the first ten or so DvDs I ever bought-now having close to 360 ;-)) This movie gets better and better with every viewing and one never gets bored watching it. I can't honestly tell you how many times I have watched this movie but would estimate it to be over 70 viewings. In fact, this and The Great Escape, are just two of the movies i'd say that I most watch-equivellent to a few of Dukes movies of course.

The Dirty Dozen is a top-notch war movie and one of my all-time most favorites. I stumbled across in the credits, that Hildegard Knef was in this movie. I never knew that and next time I can watch it, im going to look for her. I guess she was one of the ladies in the background (at the German Officers Party at the Chateau)
