Cinematographers, were responsible for putting the magic
onto the silver screen, and without them, the spectacle would never be!Three such men,
William H. Clothier,Archie Stout and Winton Hoch
were without doubt very special to Duke and his movies.
Clothier and Hoch, more or less took over the mantle,
from Stout, for the years after!Archie Stout was Duke's first favourite cinematographer,
and like Clothier, spent most of his working life, with Duke.
Just to re- introduce one of Duke's favourite co-workers -
Jim just three,
1. Yakima Canutt. 42
2. John Ford. 32
2=Chuck Roberson. 32I've got one more Cinematographer to post,
Wiiliam Hoch.I think they were fantastic at what they did,
and as you say, unsung heroes! -
