Did anyone here except for me see the entire video? I saw what caused the Police to take action against king. The vidoe starts from a window viewpoint and the chase was moving from Right to left across the screen. The chase was taped starting at several blocks distance and clearly king should have stopped the car. After stopping, king at first refused to get out then when he finally did, made threatening gestures towards the police such as clenching fists (which anyone with any common sense would realize that he intended on fighting) as well as flailing both arms motioning the police to "just try it"
Now before I get my head chopped off for saying this--I also want to say that yes--the Police DID go too far BUT--were justified in trying to end the situation to begin with as well as to protect themselves.
Also, has it occurred to anyone that this full thing COULD have been some kind of a set-up? What I mean is-is that someone causing a situation and the video-photographer just "happened" to be taping a common occurrence (meaning the police stopping a car) but for some reason, someone decided to tape a car chase. That sounds a bit fishy to me.
Anyway, they made a drug seller as well as addict--much much more wealthier. Had king stopped and not offered resistance--55 people would not have been killed, and hundreds of businesses would have survived.

Really liked him on Hogan's Heros. Among my favorite on the show becuase of his way of his con artist schemes and disguises. I also enjoyed him on the Match Game shows and of cousre who could forget him as the host of the Kissing host on Family Feud. I also recall him from the movie The Running Man with Arnold Schwarzenneger.
Carl, you might recall the movie, The Devil's Brigade with William Holden and Cliff Robertson. The 1968 movie had Dawson as Pvt. Hugh MacDonald. Don't remember him in the movie, but I'll watch to see him.
RIP Richard Dawson aka Cpl. Newkirk.
Cheers HondoHi Mike, I have seen Devils Brigade and knew Dawson was in it. Its my favorite movie with him in it as a Kilt-wearing Canadian Soldier.
Rest in Peace Corporal--we all will be greatly missing you.

Forgot to mention something about Mr. Barfoot. Several months ago-you might have read a story where a home-owners ASSociation-in the community where he lived-tried and failed-to force a WWII Vet to take down his flag. Well, that WWII Vet was Mr. Barfoot. Score one for the good guys, the home-owners association NAZIS lost.:lol::lol:

I had not heard about this one till today thanks to an email from Cindy.
Van T. Barfoot a WWII ETO Medal of Honor Recipient, passed away at the young age of 92. :-((( He passed on on March 2nd this year.
He was born on: June-15-1919.
The deed that earned him his Medal of honor occurred on: May-23-1944 near Carano, Italy. What he did was that single-handedly, he outflanked many German Machine gun positions having advanced through a minefield and in the process-wiping out three of the German MG emplacements. During that engagement-he captured 17 German Soldiers.
As if that were not enough-the Germans sent in three Tanks to recapture those MG emplacements and he took on and destroyed those three tanks by himself.
At the time of his deed, he was in: "I" (Item) Company, 157th Infantry Regiment of the 45th Infantry Division. This was the same Infantry Division that the creator of the classic Army Cartoon Characters: "Willie and Joe" (Sergeant Bill Mauldin) served with.
Rest in Peace Mr. Barfoot, you were one of my favorite Medal of Honor Recipients who served in the E.T.O.

But what that article didn't say was that Robin Gibb now has colorectal cancer and it's not good.
Just read about that before coming here. I hope its possible for him to beat that.
-
Its good to hear that Robin Gibb is now awake and alert--that's something great to hear-and on a Sunday to boot.
-
Yeah, Karl, that's Robin Gibb. He's been ill for some time. Suffering from liver cancer, I think. Then he got pneumonia just recently before going comatose. His twin brother, Maurice, passed away a few years ago from cancer. And their younger brother Andy died yrs ago, drug overdose, I believe. With that, looks like only the oldest brother, Barry will be left.
Thank you Jim. I couldnt think of his first name. I remember when the other two died. Shame to see such talent going. Robin is going the same way one of my brothers went-when I was away in College. They have the same "look" and even without the info-just looking at him you can easily see it
