Today is the 50th anniversary of us losing 129 Submariners who were on the USS Thresher and who were doing some deep sea diving at Cape Cad.
Rest in Peace Gents.

Ill miss Ebert too. I remember every Saturday at noon-the Siskel and Ebert show would be on as well as their thumbs up and thumbs down thing. Every time I saw them do that--reminded me of the Romans deciding the fates of Gladiators in the ring hopefully waiting to that that Wooden Sword.
the first season eps 19, title name the sound of fear. i also have the first 3 seasons
Ah, thank you. Its been about 5-6 years since I last looked at them. I wished thye had stayed in B&W for at least a few seasons--didnt seem the same starting with Season 2 and Albert Salmi having lest the show.
just watch peter duryea in a daniel boone esp with his father
What season were they in? I only have the first 3 seasons on DvD--and intend getting the rest when possible.
Rest in Peace to the recently deceased. I remember seeing Peter Duryea in a few things-sad to see him go.
Rest in Peace Malachi--I enjoyed you in many things such as the first 3 episodes of Star Trek as well as Time Tunnel and others.
Ewald-Heinrich von Kleist--son of the famed Field Marshal Ewald von Kleist--died at the age of 90 in Munich on Friday. He was the last surviving member of the July 20th bomb plot against hitler. I have his signed photo lying about somewhere. Also, I own a pair of his Fathers Rittmeister boards from WWI.
As he looked in WWII:
As he looked in later years.
His Father, GFM Ewald von Kleist.
Here he is just an Generaloberst (aka) Colonel General.
Bonnie Franklin of: One Day At A Time TV series fame--passed away due to cancer at age of 68. I liked that show and she was good.
Dang. Rest in Peace Dale. Ive seen you in a few things.
Carl, hate to tell you but the Dave Clark 5 is now the Dave Clark 2. Huxley was the third member of the band to pass away in the last 7 yrs. Sax player Denis Payton died in 06, lead singer Mike Smith in 08, and of course, now, Huxley.
Thank you Jim, I hadnt heard of the others. Over and Over Again is my favorite by them.
May all these who recently passed--Rest in Peace. Also, im a Dave Clark Five fan--sad to hear one left us already.
Rest in Peace all and I am a big fan of some of Michael Winners movies especially including: Hannible Brooks and the Death Wish movies.
Rest in Peace Conrad, that series was fun to watch--right WILLIS???
Rest in Peace Sammy. Loved Chevy Van and Common Man.
Rest in Peace Patti--I grew up listening to your music.
You were in sixth grade - you should not have been watching the show in the first place!
(((That's tame compared to what kids watch these days  ))))
See? You fell asleep - you should have been bed!
(((I was probably sleepy cause my big Brother snores as loud as a Chainsaw. We nicknamed him--believe it or not? Jigsaw.:lol::lol: ))))
We were also BIG Magnum and Simon & Simon fans!
(((Loved Mag/P.I. and the theme song. I havent collected it yet on DvD but will as a complete series box set--if not too expensive? ))))
I think my all time most favored episodes were the ones where they went back to "Nam." I think they were called: "All For One" as well as Did You See the Sun Rise?"
Never saw him on that...didn't even know he was on TV. Only knew Shecky from Vegas. He was a very funny man both on and OFF the stage! Like Ukie Sherin, Sheck was a "laughing machine", LOL! Hmmm, thought I had read he was on it for two years..must have "misread". I am surprised anyone knows who Shecky was......thought he was mainly a Vegas and nightclub type figure.....but then that was in the early '70s, so maybe he was only that then? Keith
Actually, I had never heard of him until I saw him on COMBAT. He was on it in the first season and was only on about 8 episodes. He was Pvt. Braddock, and was hilarious. One of my all time most favorite episodes in the entire series has him becoming a driver for a Colonel Clyde, excellently played by: Keenan Wynn. It was because of that episode--that I became a Keenan Wynn fan ;-))
Keenan Wynn was in two episodes of COMBAT. In the one that Shecky was his driver--nobody dies or really gets injured. You will have to see it because it was a great episode--as most were ;-))
Forgot to mention, if you get hold of some season one eps--Greene is the one wearing the camouflaged combat pants.
Speaking of Shecky Greene, I sure wished that he had stayed on COMBAT for at least a full season--he was good VERY good as Braddock.
Rest in Peace Dobie--along with Captain Collingsworth and his command.
