This may seem completely irrelevant and it is not connected with John Wayne in anyway but I though you may enjoy it. Michael Caine was commenting a number of years after his release on the ill advised movie tilted 'Jaws the Revenge" (1987).
He said "I haven't seen the movie myself but by all acounts its awful, but the house the money from the movie bought me is wonderful".
Yo gotta love that.
