when you can and its nice to see you again

i may not be here as much as i started a new job this is my second week at it, am training to be 2IC of the department, its a great job am working with someone who is good at thrie job and trains well.

well to give you a quick run down on what i've been doing i have done work on profiling a retail market, this is where we had to come up with a concept for a shop and research how we would go about setting it up. this was done in pairs and with my partner we designed the layout of our store from front to back, what type of flooring we were to have, fittings for the store, uniforms for the staff, who we would get stock from. the store we desided on was a bookstore with a coffee shop in it as a complete business, it was decided that she would be incharge of the book side of the business and i would be incharge of the coffee shop side, we consulted each other on everything. we had to find out about suppliers for the business. we also had to look at the laws and regs for the area that we had choosen to set up the business, we had to profile our market base, how to promote the store through advertising, recruit staff and training that they would need as well as the new IR laws about employment, we also had to know all the laws about food handling and storage as well as fire regs like how many exits and sprinklers and such for the floor space used. for this course i also had to know how to build displays of products to make them appealing to the public walking past the windows, i also had to establish an understandiing of stock levels, the life cycle of products, security systems for stores as well as security for staff, how to build relationships with customers to encourage them to use the store, we also did some on financial management to get an understanding of the varible and fixed expenses of the business. we also had to find out what types of leaders there were and how effective they are in the workplace to do this we were asked to interview our bosses ( this is where i got one of my D's), we also had to develope and deliver training sessions, we had to analyse consumer behaviour so that we could design a shop layout for hotspots and cold spots. then we went into the other areas like fostering innovation in the workplace, and how to lead teams, managering people in the workplace and all that entails. as you can see it was complexed at times but the business we designed earned my partner and myself a Distinction that particular one ended un being about 30 pages long this included 8 appendixs.

g'day everyone just to let you know have finished at long last, no results through yet but have been told that i have got at least 2 distinctions was aiming for 10 will know soon. still have to have the grad cermony. sorry i havent been here earlier but after the last few weeks and long nights looking up different laws to do with workplace health & ocupation, fire regulations, and other such things just could not face looking at the computer screen had to have a break to not only catch up with sleep but spend time with my little bloke. he has been such a treasure throughout all of this that i felt he needed to spend some time with me so we have been doing things like playing on his playstation and reading just such mundain things but so rewarding.

will hopefully catch up with a few of you in the chat room one day soon

i everyone sorry i havent been here for a while but i have been studing for my Dip in Retail Management. have just about 3 weeks to go and i will be finished have 1 assignment left to do. for cert 4 i got 5 Distinctions 2 Credits and 4 passes (these were just pass or fail) havent had any marks back yet for Dip level. have Grad Cem in July if i get a good pic will post it for you to see.

hope to be back more frequently with in the month and then i will be running fast to catch up with you all.

glad to make it back the little fella and i are doing well hes back at school now just went back in fact i have another 3 days plus the weekend then im back. have just spent the last 41/2 hours looking at different laws and such for one of my assignments.

mr c glad to see you are back up on your feet and getting better all the time before you know it you will be back on top.

your right i for one have been busy doing other things i have just completed cert 3 in my course and have started cert 4 to be completed early next year then i do the last level and grad in july with my dip in retail management so have been busy looking up laws and such for my different assignments. by the way i passed all of my cert 3 with flying colours not bad for an old duck now.

can teach an old dog new tricks :lol:

catch you around sometime have 2 weeks off and 2 assignments due in the first week back so might be able to come as often as i would like to till december.

have been studing really hard passed last lot with flying colours have been busy doing about 20 weeks work in about 12weeks so have been flat out like a lizard drinking. have about 3 weeks left of this part and then i move onto the next level it goes for about 9 weeks for the end of this year and then 7 weeks in the next then i move to the last level and then all going well i will have my dip. in retail management.

hope to make time in the next 5 weeks to get here and have a real chat with you all have missed being able to come and do so.

just to give you all the heads up i have been studing for the last while and have another 12 months to go so i will only be poping in when i get the time like now have only next wednesday for this semseter and i have holidays for 2 weeks and go back on the 3rd of july and then the chrismas break go back in january next year to complete. thanks for missing me have done well so far have passed with flying colours all of the subjects will earn my cert 2 in retail for this semester.

so hondo has gone and got himself a lady well goood on him he needs someone in his life hope she bring him all the happyness that they can find. here i sit with a broken heart :lol: :lol:

just taking up some of beks idea and am posting here that i could be away for a while this being as i am now doing my course and work experience which will be taking up most of my time have 2 days a week where i have to be up and out before 6:10am and dont get home till about 5:45pm and the other three i have long days as well so will be using the free days to do study and catch up on house work so i will have to get in when i can

hopefully this will be as often as i can

maybe because i come on at a different time to you i have seen roland on having a poke about i dont think he has had the time to post but he has been in. when hes not so busy he will get back into the swing of things then we could all be saying boy oh boy has he got a fire in his shorts or what.
