Wow! Sounds like a DVD I wouldn't mind owning, with a couple of young teenagers around. The price is reasonable, too!
Thanks, you guys, for doing the research to let us know what it's all about.
Kind of like No Substitute for Victory, the documentary around the time of the Vietnam War, which Duke narrated.

Like you, we already have both films on DVD, so we would be especially interested in your thoughts on the extras, because that would be the only reason we would purchase the titles again.
Well they finally arrived and having watched them back to back I can say they are both well worth the money I paid.
Not only is the quality of the print far superior to the copies I had I would have paid this just for the extras.
Wow! Now I'll have to get them, after your good report.
FWIW, Amazon has them at a better price than Deep Discount DVD at this time, each title around $15.
I only ordered them for the extras as I already have both films on DVD.

Thanks, Todd, for the news! Sounds like there are some excellent special features on both JW DVDs.

PV, THANKS for the heads up on this opportunity.
They even tell us why we should vote on a title -
QuoteBecause we'll routinely send your votes to major Home video distributors responsible for releasing classic movies on to DVD. So go ahead and vote and let your voice be heard!
I just went through and checked out every title I don't have. Quite a few are currently not available, so I voted for those. Some are available, so now I know I can get them if I want them.
Did anybody notice that The Shootist wasn't listed in that filmography? How weird is that?
And what's up with this listing in Duke's filmography?

Thanks, Keith! We'll eventually round all the stray dvd release threads up and get 'em corralled in one of the two threads.
Chester
Stumpy was looking for the place to ask a question or make an announcement about upcoming DVD releases, and couldn't find it. I found numerous threads about the subject, and with a little work, condensed it down to 2 threads, one regarding release of JW movies to DVD and the other about all other movies, in Off Topic Discussions.
I hope it helps a little.
Chester
I was partly right, it has never been released in North America but there's an import copy that's region 1 & 4 but the language on the DVD menu is PORTUGUESE.
Yeah, we found it "used and new" on Amazon, starting at around $24, as described above by Lt. Brannigan. FWIW, my first copy of Three Godfathers was in Portuguese, with the cover and DVD menu in Portuguese, but we could figure it out enough to play it in English.
Chester
Roughrider,
Thanks for that link to Legend Films! They've got some great films available - it was good to see that the Shirley Temple films are being made available on DVD.

Hondo,
-_- -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- . . .
Chester
Hondo,
Are we talking about the same set ?? Check HERE.
Maybe you got a special pre-release price or something.
Chester
I haven't had a chance to look for it at Costco yet, but I have to say that Sam's Club has Deep Discount DVD beat (that's rare).
Now if there was only a Sam's Club around here . . . .
