it comes around every year and although I am a day early I would like to raise a glass and toast the wish that all our American friends and colleagues enjoy a very Happy and of more importance a Peaceful Fourth of July 2012.
Our two countries have been there from the beginning and gone through thick and thin together. Long may it continue.

Here, here, I couldn't have put it better!
I've been in the midst of different part of American history watching Gettysburg since the 1st of July, day by day, to coincide with the actual dates 149/150 years on! So tonight I'll be on the 3rd of July!
My wife has decided we'll be celebrating on the 4th July! I'm not sure why as we only have very distant links through our Irish blood, but I'm not one for asking why if there's fine fare and beer to be had!
