Received the Blu Ray of this and viewed it this morning.
For the most part, it's a vast improvement of sharpness, depth of field and color. For me, a long time fan of this troubled and troubling film, it's worth it.

Neither will I, Hondo. In fact, I've had a strong itch to watch it again but am waiting for the Blu. If it's not an improvement over the dvd I'm going to be very disappointed.

Well, that's three of us. A bit disappointed that there doesn't appear to be any new extras, but here's hoping that Nick Redman corrected the night scene when the escapees are recaptured so it's at least visible.
Last time I pre-ordered from Twilight Time, the movie showed up a week ahead of the release date. Here's hoping.

Twilight time announced that the two disc Dundee blu ray will go on sale on 3/15/13. The second disc will contain the original theatrical cut. No news yet about artwork or extras.

Capt. Tyreen's death was severely edited. In the film he sacrifices himself by attacking a column of lancers and is knocked from his horse. These photos show that he was down, but not out.
The river battle
The Confederate contingent counter attack. These guys can ride.
The execution of Hadley.
Also missing, the friendly knife fight at the fiesta that everyone but Dundee understands.
This a scene that's still missing. After the river ambush the command is short of horses so Dundee tries to ride a mule. It's not his finest moment but the men bond by laughing silently behind his back.
Peter, your pristine lobby cards encouraged me to go forward with this thread. This site is, after all, a tribute to the Duke, but some of the other films made during this period, inform us about Wayne's cinematic choices and place his films in historical context, which I feel is highly important.
There is something about Dundee which compels me to watch it. I don't know why. To me, it's a fascinating film that just missed achieving greatness.
If anyone has any thoughts on this one, please contribute.

Same goes for James Coburn as the one armed scout.
