I thought this movie sucked to say it mildly and, de la Pena--a Mexican Colonel-was WRONG on Davy Crocketts death. His version was written down by no less than 6 different hands--while being told by that Colonel-when he was suffering from a severe bout of Malaria. Those papers are called the "de la Pena Papers." Ive written about them before and THINK ive posted that info here many years ago. Anyway-de la Pena DID NOT PERSONALLY witness Davy Crocketts death. Other Mexican soldiers have documented that at least 15 Mexican soldiers bodies were found in the very near vicinity of Crocketts body-when he died.
