Posts from Hawkswill in thread „Sketch Prizes“

Well Darn. Thanks anyway, Tommy. Can't wait to see it. Might work if you turn the lights up in the house and not use a flash. My camera does that fine, but it is for my work, so it is a pretty good camera, LOL! Also, you can turn off the lights and use the camera flash.......that works sometimes.

    Thanks again for trying, KEITH

Tried to take a photo of it inside the house but keep getting to flash on it will try outside when we get a fine day.

Hey Keith got the sketches framed like I wanted them, they look really good in one frame.

“COWBOYS, just like the word says.”

Thanks Tommy. Can you send us a picture of it? It will be the first multiple framed one I will have a picture of. KEITH

"Not CowMEN, CowBOYS!" LOVE THAT MOVIE!

Keith did you do that one of the Great Escape with Mcqueen tangled up in the barbed wire.

Hi Tommy, Did it once, but didn't like the bike.......so got some better pics of it, and am working on it now. You ever get the framing? Oh, that drawing is for Carl........will only have prints of it. HAGO, KP

Glad you got them guys. A lot of the originals I posted have been sold, but I made 50 prints of each signed and numbered. Only selling them for $10 until I get a bit of a following. Very low on them now. Am doing one for Carl of Steve McQueen all tangled up in barbed wire with his motorcycle from the Great Escape. He sent me a three foot tall poster of Duke from the top of his hat to the tips of his boots.....will put it in my bedroom after I frame it. The wood I chose is too small....didn't know my surprise was going to be so large, so will pick something else unusual out of my supply in the shop.
Thanks again for letting me know, and if you DO frame the pics, sure would love to see a pic of them that way! HAGO, KEITH

    Hi Kid, Thanks.

It is from Hondo.......Hondo is staked out and Vittorio is about to put hot coals in his hand to make him tell where the soldiers are. This is just before he gets released and does the knife fight with Silva. Terry Wilson, (Bill Hawks of Wagon Train fame) doubles Duke in the fight......Terry is known for his knife fights! When Hondo first throws Silva over him, Terry is the one in the scene. Duke is in for a few close ups, but Terry does most all of the fight.

Too bad about your art......most of mine got sold, LOL! KP

I'm right behind you, bringing up the rear, lol!

    Mornin' Peter,
I feel certain you will be passing me like a freight train rapidly. With two websites and the work on the house, I imagine I will slow to a crawl, LOL. Wanted to really help....think that has been partially accomplished. So, off to another project, LOL. Have a super day, Keith

If feels rather nice, actually, Peter. Newbie is a term I will never apply to myself again. Although, I have only been a member for 4 months and 4 days, with a thousand posts, I think I deserve to leave that behind. And, you will very soon also! What a team, LOL! Sleep well, imagine it is about that time over there! KP

Lol, just do your things it'll be great I'm sure.
How does it feel to be in the big league now, your out of te 100s and into the 1000s!

Ooh, I actually prefer it! It's freer and less laboured.
Don't take it as a criticism, it's a compliment on how your confidence is growing.
Remember art is my bag. ;)

Yes Peter, you never told me that until AFTER I said I would do you a composite. Now, I wouldn't have a clue what to try to do for you since you are an expert already, and I have just begun.

Always sketched buildings like this at first. KP

    Spider-Man on JWMB.
I thought someone was having a joke on me!
The real life Spider-Man, Peter (Dooley) Parker.

Peter, what did you mean about the "real life Spider-Man"......hmmmm, was Peter Parker's name the one who turned into Spider-Man....seems to "ring a bell sometime way back?

LOL, love the "Peter Dooley Parker" name I gave you for paying attention instead of skimming, LOL......seems to really "fit" you.

What do you think of Carl's picture skills? Not too bad, huh? Now, to get him back to what it was all about....scanning and sending medals for my thread!

    Have a super day, Keith

Thanks there Young 'Un. Enjoy doing the drawings. About to try Prisma colors......never worked with color before.

Neat pics you sent....when I was a kid, I drew Batman and Robin, Superman, Flash etc. Long time ago, LOL!

Well, have a good one, Keith

Hows Fort Apache coming along worked out the glitches yet Keith

Hi Tommy, Sorry....haven't done any sketching.....gotta get back to it.,
Shouldn't take but a few minutes. Hope to send yours and Mark's out Monday.

    HAGO,KEITH

The Fort Apache one please, you have got the likeness of Kirby and Collingwood, Thursday just doesn't seem right.

Well, for you my dear Tommy, I will either FIX Hank so he does look right to you, or I will redraw it. Please don't quit the GW though, LOL.

Love your site. Tried to comment on something but it took me all over the place....will try again. Haven't seen near all I would like. Oh, and want to do the camera Cong tour. That must have taken you FOREVER.

I will work on Hank today. Hopefully my checks will get here in a few days and I will mail all out. Thanks and HAGO, Keith

Just lost a long post...here we go again.
HAH, well, so be it then, Lady Hawk, MB! You know, my official American Mountain Man name is Hawk. You are given your name by your brigade. You don't get one until you are deemed worthy.....for some folks it takes years. With all the completely unexplainable HAWK things that have happened to me, (and I don't believe in that kind of thing until it hits you slap dab in the face three or four times), and my grandfather who I am named after and take after, Will Keith Hawks, plus the small amount of Indian blood......Hawk became my name. And, that is what I am called at the Rendezvous' and the primitive campouts. So, there you have it....Funny you should choose that name MB....got any Indian blood in you?

I have been dreading this sketch every since I began this project. I am sure you all know about the Patriotic bit at the end, but in all the hundreds of times I have seen The Shootist and read about it, I have never noticed it. So, when I did the screen capture and saw it, I was just flabbergasted. Made me think even more than ever that Duke really DID think this was probably his last film, with the dying of cancer, Bond for his landlady's name, and THIS! Not to mention giving Ole Dollor away, etc. So, you tell me what you think. Have you all seen this before.....am I the only person who doesn't notice important things? So, here it is. Patriot to the end!
    Lady Hawk!

Hi Tommy, Hope you had fun. I haven't changed the Ft. Apache one. If you want it changed, I will try to do it tonight. I assume your site addresses have your snail mail address on it. Short of cash until these next two checks come in and not sure what it will cost to mail to the UK.....need some tracing paper to go between each also. Thanks about Ben's pic....I thought it came out pretty much the way I wanted. Did you want it instead of FT. Apache? I like that one....all the guys look right, just wanted Hank to look different. OK, let me know, and hope you stick with the GW...we have until the end of the month and haven't gotten to the good parts yet, LOL! HAGO, KEITH

Must be losing it. Thought I posted this last night. This is the finished version, (I think) of when Gillum takes JB's hand off the gun and grabs it so he can kill the backshooter.

Thanks Mark.....now into war ones.....Iwo anyway. This is right after Stryker fights PFC Thomas for getting one of his men killed and two wounded. Afterwards, they leave as friends. There is blood trickling out of Thomas' right side of his mouth in case you wonder what it is, LOL.

    Thanks Peter,
So, how about commenting on what I put on the GW.....or just answer the questions? OR, put something of your own on there. It will be half over soon. You PROMISED to watch it early this time, remember? We were going to discuss gradually instead of just writing I liked it or didn't because of this or that. Glad this is my last time. I have tried everything I know to make this interesting......I must be a real Dud.....but then, I believe Some of you have figured that out already! Not even the Mods will participate. If I were a quitter, I would quit now, but I am not. So, I will stick it out until the 3oth......Keith
It has been fun for me and Tommy, anyway....he won 3 sketches, LOL!
