Like most things, you have to research and use your noggin'. If it seems bad it probably is and you should stay away from it. That being said, I have never had a problem on EBAY in the last 5 years since I have been using it.

Hi Todd, that is correct. Before I started bidding on ebay I did such a thing. First, I bought about $1,000 worth of referance books dealing with items of my interest. I studied these for months, and when I felt ready to try ebay--I did. I have probably 100 transactions that went perfectly but, those few that did not--for whatever reason--ruined it for me. So just for me--I now only deal with collectors I trust--and besides--they haev what I need so I no longer need to rely on ebay for anything.

I am now confident enough in my research etc, that it would be very hard to fool me on German insignia and uniforms. Medals and Qualification Badges are a different matter. Those too are so heavily faked and can fool anyone because templates for faking awards--are created and used. Those fakes are so good--even the faked aging and wear and tear--that 99% of all collectors/dealers and such, will get burned on more than one item. I wasa burned on two Panzervernichtabziechens (Tank Assault Badges)--but found out in less than a day that they were bad--and managed to get all my money back on them.

Anyway, glad you have never had any problems with them. Oh and, do you remember Ebay's nemisis site Epier? THAT place is was disaster.

I quit using ebay about 5 or so years ago. Mainly it was because of the lack of ebay's will to help buyers and they only would help the sellers.

Also, as I collect original photographs and Imperial/WWII German Militaria--there are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many fakes out there on ebay. I admit I was burned a few times--once on a photo and twice on militaria) I learned my lesson--and though I really did not lose all that much--I still decided that I can always get a better deal--dealing with fellow collectors -- ones that I trust, that is.

I have not used ebay for over six years now. Been taken a few times (thankfully never for a fortune) met my share of shill dealers/liars and jerks, and decide never to buy from ebay again. Whoever said it is right though (about ebay not handling up on complaints from buyers) I let them know about a dealer selling original vintage photographs - who I bought and paid for, two Heinrich Hoffmann PK presse fotos from, and never recieving my photo's. And then this jerk made two complaints about me to ebay saying I did not pay for the items - though my US Postal money orders had been cashed. I had my proof in the name of two reciepts, made copies of and was going to send to the proper person/people at ebay to see. I never recieved a reply-nor any contact info. I did nave two strikes against me that ebay never correcte, and I simply just quit their site.

Epier is even worse--especially in shill dealers.

Thanks Mark, i'll check into it. Yep, I spent many-an-hour, stooped in front of some of Avalon Hill's RPG's I definately would like the Squad Leader game and some others--in my possession again. I love that Eastern Front stuff.

BTW, I have two computer games--no computer---yet. I have: Eastern Front by talonsoft, and Sid Meier's Civil War. Both games are excellent. I never got around to buying any others unfortunately.

Speaking of Avalon Hill games. I used to have a few like; Squad Leader & The Red Baron. I loved playing both games. Also, I think there used to be one that was about or was "fought" at Stalingrad. A friend of mine had this one and I the first time I ever played this one, I smeared him. This guy boasted of never losing that game. I was in charge of the Red Army and he was in charge of the German Army.

I sure do miss those games and wish they would again, would be sold on the market.
