I like interesting facts like that. I would have guessed Clair Trevor to be in the top three actrsess. But , I can only come up with four that she costared in.Can anyone name the four?
Hi the westener,
Thanks for your comments,
there is however a dedicated thread on
and of course the answer is there in my reply post, re-posted here:-
Claire Trevor, was a lifelong friend of Duke,
but she made only 4 films with him
The High and the Mighty (1954) .... May Holst
Dark Command (1940) .... Miss Mary McCloud
Allegheny Uprising (1939) .... Janie MacDougall
Stagecoach (1939) .... Dallas
She and Duke had tremendous chemistry,no more so than in
Stagecoach where it almost leaps out of the screen.
They remained lifelong friends and neighbours at Long Beach,
After the death of Duke's friend Chuck Iverson's son,
Duke wrote Claire a letter that she treasured,
the actress said,
He was a man of deep feelings,..
deeper than anyone would expect of John WayneBest Wishes
