Posts from Hondo Duke Lane in thread „How About A Definative Listing For All“

    Arthur,

I guess you'll have to pack up and come over here to see those westerns. ;)

But they are not currently the genre on American TV. You'll have to see them on reruns. Every once in a while they will do a series, but I think that Little House on the Prairie (that was over 20 years ago) was the last series on TV in the states. Might be wrong, but that's what I think.

    Carl,

Claude Akins was with Duke in Rio Bravo as Joe Burdette. The man in jail in the majority of the movie. He was also in Ride Beyond Vengeance (1966), Gunfight at Black Horse Canyon (1961) (TV), Comanche Station (1960), Return of the Seven (1966), A Distant Trumpet (1964) and more. I know him best as Sheriff Lobo in the BJ & the Bear television series in the late '70's.

    Hope this helps.

    Ringo,

By chance how many western stars do you have listed, and what is the criteria for making that list? I know that you have some stars who make the transition, but if you really think about it, almost every one in show business has been a western star. Realize I said almost. Think about it; I could say Sharon Stone, and some might argue that she wasn't in a western, but she starred in The Quick & the Dead, or even Michael J, Fox in Back to the Future, Part 3, which goes in time to the old west. Just interesting in how this works.
