Posts from The Ringo Kid in thread „Who Would Be Your Idea For The Perfect“

Colorado, my hat is off to both you sirs. I mean WOW, what a heck of a western yours would make and I WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED in watching it and buying a special DvD release. :D

I'll have to take the weekend to work on completing mine.

    Take care and best regards--Carl.

Thank you Col,orado, i'll be eagerly awaiting your finished product. Perhaps I should give a certain role to every individual as well.

I don't want this to be a copy of How the West Was Won though. BTW, that movie has some ffrom our list including The Duke.

    James Stewart.
    Gregory Peck.
Karl Malden (who I forgot to mention)
    Walter brennan.
    The Duke (Of course) ;-))
Lee J. Cobb (who is also not on the list but would have been had I remembered his name)
    Henry Fonda.
    Andy Devine.
    Richard Widmark.
Raymond Massey (who is not on the list but would have been if I had remembered his name.)

Others that i'd list would also include:

    Stuart Whitman.
    Robert Wagner.
    Caesar Romero.
    Mel Ferrer.
    Jack Warden.
Chill Wills. (How could I have left out Chill Wills?)
    Edgar Buchannen.
    Kirk Douglas.
    Slim Pickens.
Frank Sinatra. (How could I have left him off this list too?)
Christopher George. (Would make a good Cavalry Sergeant.)
    Tom Mix.
    Tim Holt.
    Tim McCoy.
    George "Gabby" Hayes.
    Al St John.
    Johnny Mack Brown.
    Lash LaRue.
    Charles Starrette.
    Wild Bill Elliott.
    Raymond Hatton.
    Brian Donlevy.
    Robert Preston.
    J. Carroll Naish. ( General Sheridan.)

Roscoe Lee Browne. (Good actor and Tuskegee Airman/Hero)
    Rod Taylor.
    Neville Brand.
    Ralph Meeker.
    Hugh O'Brian. (Saloon keeper/Gambler.)

    Hi gr1087, Keith.

1087, Duvall is a good actor and I had forgotten about him. I think he'd probably make good in the role of a Lawman of somekind.

Keith, Thanks for that. I had completely forgotten about Tyrone Power. He would definately have to be in one of the military scenes and most likely in the War with Mexico scenes.

I'm sure there are tons more I did not name but thats only because these names above were all I could think of at the moment. :D

Hi Smokey my dear, I did think of having Tom Selleck in the list but, I decided against him in my list because he is too modern of an actor to be with these folks. I am a big Selleck fan and have liked him ever since his Magnun P.I. days. You are correct though, he does make for a VERY good Western star. I had also thought of having Mel Gibson and Tom Hanks as well. :D

    Take care my dear--Carl.

Hi Mate, your idea sounds good but I would absolutely have to have Lewis Milestone be the director for the War with Mexico & the Civil War battle scenes. :D

    Take care mate--Carl.

I thought this "What If" would be interesting to see who you all would chose to make the all time perfect cast for a Western movie.
