Posts from Bek in thread „How's The Weather“

Snow in our state, at the end of spring!

Australia is going through one weird weather phenomonon at the moment.
There's bushfires to the north of us and snow to the south.

Got a really big storm today.

2 Fences snapped from tree's falling on them from wind. A horse that's a bit sore from hail(stupid thing wouldn't get out of it, the other two did.)

And a heck of a lot of water.....

    About time we saw some.

As I said before I wish it was cold and wet. Not just cold.

Although I actually stopped to look at the paddocks today and they're really nice and green.

We got some rain aswell, and now it's absolutely freezing!!! I was supposed to help a friend with cattle today, however I couldn't as the rain was to heavy.

At least the paddocks are looking nice.

    Cheers,
    Bek

    Redcap,

That's pretty cool that you know around here pretty well. My ribs are fine now, that heifer just needed a little bit of force used. My horse is going good, we're selling him now.

The rain around here hasn't been bad, although there isnt enough time for it to be absorbed into the ground.

It's been quite good here, we've had a good amount of rain in the last few days, nothing to much, but enough to give everything a green tinge, we don't see green grass that much anymore.

I can't be sure who's buying them, but this is the worst drought in Australian History so it's pretty bad at the moment, it's going into it went into it's tenth year in May.

    Hi kilo,

Yes they do rely on it quite often, but soon there's not going to be enough water left to irrigate anything, so in other words we need rain now. Quite a lot of the farms out here are selling up it's that bad, so hopefully those clouds will bring rain sometime soon.

It looks like we're going to enter Phase One of water restrictions here in San Antonio by the weekend - no rain in sight. Like Carl and Mike and all the rest of you drought sufferers, we're just hoping for some respite soon :dead::stunned::cry2: .

I think Brisbane(in Australia, it's the closest capital city to where I am) is one Phase 3 water restrictions :fear: , I'm glad we're on tank water around here.

Yeaht the hills in Wivenhoe are getting bigger everytime I go past it, now on the bridge you can see the bottom of the dam, it's really bad :(

I agree, we most probably are doing it tougher, not that the city people aren't doing it tough, it's just getting so hard out here, one of my friends from school has 5 dams and all 5 of them have gone dry, we're losing so much stock out of it aswell.

We got rain today!!!!! It wasn't very much, in fact only a small shower, however I haven't seen rain in a while so it was a welcomed relief, just a little tidbit, in Queensland, Australia(where Smokey and I live) it has been over 230 days since we've had over 50mm of rain, and I tell you it's really starting to take its toll here.

Well my horse got into next door's yard again since I last posted, so now he's locked up in the stables where he can't get out, thankfully.

Well it was fairly cold this morning, I didn't really appreciate going over to next door's paddock this morning at 5.30 to get my horse out of there place, now I have a houdini horse :P
