Never thought I'd hear myself say this but this old Texas boy is ready for a bit of summer.
You Northerners are accustomed to prolonged zero degree weather but not us Southerners.

I'm beginning to think Al Gore and his ilk are full of it.

Bright sunshine but the temperature isn't expected to get above freezing until Friday. Today it's about 13 or 14 degrees below and a north wind cuts like a knife.
-
freezing cold winters seem to be becoming the norm
Come, come, badger, Algore and his ilk don't want to hear that. -
The forecasters were right. 12-inch drifts. I know that ain't much for north of the Mason-Dixon but in Tejas, that's a lot.

Gonna be dangerous driving tomorrow. For about the past 3 hours, we've had freezing rain here in north Texas. The roads will probably be solidly iced over in the morning.
Unusual weather this Tuesday morning in north Texas. Probably 4 or 5 inches of snow and ice on the ground. Glad I'm totally retired as it's very dangerous driving conditions out there and I wouldn't fancy trying to get to work. -

Another very bad winter storm over night twelve more inches in seven hours.I can't use the words I would like to use I would be thrown off the board. This could bring a grown man to tears. Excuse me while I wipe my eyes and go dig out.
Hey Bill,
We have plenty of room down here in Texas for good Duke fans, especially those who have served their country. And we hardly ever have snow. -
Hey Smokey, sure hope this flooding isn't causing you a lot of problems.
-
Wow - looks like our cousins across the pond have taken a helluva hit from "global warming".

We're on a roller coaster here in San Antonio. We get a few days of chilly temperatures and then the weather warms up and we get highs in the mid-seventies and lows in the fifties. And so on and so forth.
Same in north Texas, Jay. -
I find some of the temperatures shown on this map hard to believe. Especially those in the southernmost states.

hope to get lawn mowed tomorrow
cheers smokey
Hope you're not mowing that lawn, Smokey. Your little bloke should be old enough now to mow it for you. -
All I can say is, I'm glad this scorcher of a summer appears to be yielding to the calender. It's been miserably hot in Texas this summer but temperatures the past week or so have been considerably cooler, especially in the early morning hours.
-
In north Texas, this summer has been hotter than blue blazes so far.

I live about 85 miles from the area and by the time the storms got to us all it did was rain heavy and lots of wind. Some straightline wind damage but nothing like the tornado cause in my home town.
Glad to hear your relatives (parents and brother) came through OK, Todd. The family and I experienced a tornado in 1966 and believe me, they're no fun. -
wish the wind would stop blowing but that's not going to happen here it's always windy
Sure you don't live in Texas, Erica? -
The sun is finally shining here
Are you saying it's road construction time, Erica? -
Not a ray of light today, also if less cold than last days.
Yesterday night we had strong rains.
Hoping that it'll be a great Fat Thursday,
dancing all together in the square all night without rain!

May the sun shine upon you, Flaca, and all your days be happy and bright. -
Now.....what was that rumor about "global warming"?
