The French branch of Warner Brothers will release Andrew V. McLaglen's Chisum (1970) on Blu-ray on January 8. I have absolutely no idea if this means a U.S. blu-ray release is planned.
This late John Wayne Western casts 'The Duke' as real-life ranch owner John Chisum, battling to save his land from a ruthless developer (Forrest Tucker). Based on the events of New Mexico's 1878 Lincoln County War, which saw Chisum enlisting the help of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid to protect what was rightfully his.

I'm doing "reruns" of photos at the Ben page this week (http://benjohnsonfanpage.shutterfly.com).
Today I've replaced a modern reproduction of this photo with a vintage still.

I'm doing a kind of series of "Ben from the back" stills and lobby cards and this is one of them!

Waaaa-aaayyyyllllll <---Jimmy Stewart drawl...
Here's two more oversized placards from Chisum. I'm planning to post them at my Ben Johnson webpage tomorrow (Monday).
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's Dollor John Wayne is riding in Chisum, isn't it? Ben rode his favorite movie horse from the mid/late '60s-early '70s, Blackie, though you can't really see the horse in this first photo.

John Wayne and Forrest Tucker eye to eye in Chisum. I wish you call all see the original of this. It's a big oversize placard on stiff cardboard paper. I had to use the oversize scanner at work to make the scan.

Hi, Mark. I got those cards from ebay and alas, I don't have any information about them.

More Chisum photos.

Chisum trading cards! These are really fun items.

I just added to my Ben Johnson webpage screencaps of Ben's scenes from Chisum. Although I just did Ben's scenes, that still means lots and lots of John Wayne too! Here are a few pics which I hope will tempt you over to the webpage to look at more. http://benjohnsonscreencaps.shutterfly.com

Did someone say Pepper and Festus?
Here they are! Actually it's Ben as a bad guy being apprehended by Festus in the Gunsmoke episode "Quaker Girl." Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, that's what happens when one makes screencaps from TVLand broadcasts.
