Watched All The King's Men with Broderick Crawford. I know I should be shot!!! . I had never seen the movie so it was interesting to see
Broderick Crawford performance as Willie Stark compared to John Wayne in Sands of Iwo Jima.It started well but lost momentum towards the end. Interesting to see John Ireland and Joanne Dru both in roles after they had done Red River the year before.
Is the rumour true that John Wayne was offered the Willie Stark role. I couldnt see him in 1000 years playing the role it was portrayed.
For the record John Wayne's performance is the better one.
We wuz robbed.
