Posts from Hawkswill in thread „Last Non Western You Watched“

Watched some of MacMillan and Wife with Rock Hudson and Susan Saint James........haven’t seen it since it was a series on TV. They were great together. Guess who was a guest star? I almost fainted.........my good buddy, Barbara McNair! She was a light black singer and actor ...........shame what happened to her because of husband Rick Manzie. On her way to the stars like a rocket, and then.................well, just too bad. Wonderful person she was. KEITH This is Barbara looking the way I knew her. I never ran into anyone who didn't just love her.

The Following with Kevin Bacon. Had never heard of it. It is a 15 one hour episode series.........one season. I am just on the third episode, but I think I may have nightmares soon, LOL!

Irish......never heard of yours.........looks as if it is not worth the effort?

Rocklin, suppose you could try taking a picture of the composite? Sure would love to see it. Glad you had fun. Can't believe you didn't go see EK, LOL! I would have.......yep, I would. KEITH

Hodges in Bones..jpgJust lost a post.........hate it when I do that. I went back to see if Netflix had any new BONES years........nope. BUT, I pulled up some favorite episodes and watched them. Because of my nursing....I really enjoy the forensic parts and scientific parts. Another favorite part is Seally Booth.....not bad, LOL. ALSO, was MOST surprised to find myself liking T.J. who played the "bug and slime" unbelievably wealthy guy, Jack Hodgkins. In a Christmas episode......he is shown shirtless.......unreal physique...who would have guessed? Always wondered if those wonderful blue eyes were contact enhanced. Still working with the pics...will get them right eventually, LOL!

Hi Guy, Yep, I watched them a couple of times. One of my favorite series. I THINK there was one year more after I stopped watching.......need to check up on it. Would LOVE to see some new ones if the same people are in them. Hope things are going well. I have been watching the old Law and Order series..........the different ones. Also watched Night Passage and Sea Change......two made for TV movies with Tom Selleck........DANG......wished they were a series! KEITH

More of the Airwolf Series with Ernie Borgnine and Jan Michael Vincent Had forgotten about it since I watched the series when first aired. But looking for something of Ernie's, I found it on Netflix. Think I like it even better than the first time around....and THAT is saying something. Never liked Vincent until about 3 episodes.............then came to really enjoy him. And Ernie......NEVER saw anything by him I didn't like. He was a very good friend of My friend, Marty Allen, the comedian. They and their wives were very close. I compare his death to Marty as Jilly's was to Sinatra..........devastating. Will finish this on Netflix and then check into Airwolf II which I am not sure if I ever saw. Oh, the pilot episode.....wonder if the same actors were it it......will check it out. KEITH

My BR copy of The Green Berets. No matter how many times I watch this film, I'm not afraid to admit that I still choke up at the end over Hamchunk's reaction to Peterson not returning from the mission.
    Mark

You aren't the only one Mark........shoot, I get started before they land just thinking about it! He was a very important part of the film. Like Duke says at the end, "you are what we are fighting for." Hope you are well my friend. KEITH My cousin, Cecil Adams, (retired General now), was in charge of the Hughies in Viet Nam for his tour over there. Was a bad boy.......supposed to be behind a desk. Got shot down three times behind enemy lines. But, he had been in the Army since he graduated cadet colonel from the Citadel. I betcha NOBODY told him any secrets, LOL.......all the biggies knew how he was. If he ever got caught by the enemy, he wouldn't have had anything to tell them, LOL!

OUCH! Outrageous. You know, I believe, if they would lower their entry fees and food concession pricing..........movies would once again become something for families to do together. No, they would NOT lose money......they would MAKE more because movie going would become a normal thing to do instead of a "save up for it, once in a while" thing. AND, it would be another thing to try to help to TRY to bring families back to the way they were, (like all sitting down to the dinner table at the same time, LOL). We had 4 season Tickets to the Falcons and Braves game in Atlanta when I was growing up. Even with normal salary increases, there is NO WAY we would have been able to afford that with the prices now. Glad you guys had fun, Bill......Hi to the Missus for me! KEITH

Took the family to see "Despicable Me 2" today in 3D. Two senior tickets, two adults and four kids' cost $72.00. Outrageous by any standards, but I spent almost as much time watching my grand kids' reactions to the 3D effects as I spent watching the movie.
The movie was actually amusing and I don't regret a penny. If anyone wants to take their youngsters to this, pay the extra for the 3D and don't leave once the credits start.

    We deal in lead, friend.

I have been rewatching the Quincy, M.E. series as of late. Last night I got quite a surprise. One of the episodes had two of the people who will be in my book, My Gibbons, as "quest stars". One was Robert Walker, Jr, who was in The Train Robbers as the "kid nitro expert". Robert, as actors have to work jobs when not in films, was a chauffeur for the top company in LA. Once, Marty and Frenchy Allen called their limo service to take me with Gibbons on a tour of all the movie sets, etc. Robert was our chauffeur and we had a great time that day talking about all his acting experiences besides a wild ride to the airport to get us to the chartered plane in time for a golf tournament in Puerto Rico, (he should have been a "stunt driver", LOL). I have always treasured that day.......having a known movie and TV star as our chauffeur. But, the strangest thing.......also in the episode was Bruce Weitz who played the undercover cop, Mick Belker, in Hill Street Blues.
Guess what his role was........chauffeur to an underworld figure. I suppose stranger things have happened, but what a coincidence. I knew Bruce because his charity celeb golf tournament was always based at at a hotel where I was the beverage manager for a few years. He and his wife and I became pretty good friends.......I still talk to them about two or three times a year.

But then........guess who the murdered victim was in Quincy in the next episode? Chuck Roberson! No, never met him, but sure was strange to have those three in back to back shows. KEITH

Thanks Kevin. That is very cool how it just reappeared. Wasn't there earlier and when folks tried to access it. Talked to four people about it, LOL.....and Carl and I were on the phone and looking for it at the same time. Thanks for whatever, appreciate it. Now, the links I sent out, no.....better send them again...I think it is in one spot down or up from where it was. Right..will just send out a new link. Thanks again, KEITH

I see one thing that happened. When I posted, it was above Tennessee's post..........now it is below. I just sent out the link you gave me....dang it, will have to email them again.....this is what is says no matter what I do:

Whoops! The page could not be found. Try giving it another chance below

Are you referring to this post? http://www.dukewayne.com/showp…p?p=128726&postcount=6781

If so, then it's just about 4-5 posts above this one in this thread.

So PLEASE some moderator tell us where these posts are so that I can send the A team one to the 5 new prospective members....HELP!!!!!!
Someone put the Jack Ging in Red letters.....I didn't........so what is the deal? I know the post is somewhere because Kevin told me they are never completely deleted, that the mods can still see them. SO, if you want to, you can send me the post by PM if for some reason you don't want it out there.......it was just telling about the last episode of the A Team, I didn't even tell how it ended, that I watched of season 4.........what is wrong with that? I am trying very hard to stick to your rules. So please return my post to somewhere and tell me where it is. Thanks again, Keith

Hmmm, when I put Jack Ging in search it comes right back here where I THOUGHT I posted his two pics and the A TEAM episode. If it got moved, will someone tell me where it went. I sent the link out to 5 prospective new members........needless to say, they didn't find it.
    Thanks, KEITH

LOVE Charleton Heston...........think he liked people to call him Chuck.

Anyway, I was taking a break and needed something to take my mind off work. Haven't talked to Jack in a few months, so I watched his last "work" of his life before he retired. It is the last episode of the 4th season of A Team, and he plays General Bull Fullbright. I cried, as usual. But, it is a cool episode as the team goes back to Viet Nam and each has "flashbacks" about what happened to them there. Some nice helicopter action also.

    Jack as Bull

Jack as himself 2 years ago

Sorry to hear that and will be including her in my nightly messages to the lord. Hope she gets better fast.

    Take care-Carl.

Hoping for the best for you and your Mom, Tommy!. Sometimes there are miracles..........I, as is Carl, (The Ringo Kid), and all my animal family are praying for yall to have one now. KEITH

Ya know, it is sad to say, but I guess forever when I hear or read the name Roman Polanski, I will have a picture in my mind of Charles Manson........hope most people don't...it is pretty bad, especially if you read "Helter Skelter"! Won an Edgar Allen Poe award for non-fiction horror....something like that. A lawyer given me in Palm Springs by Bob Hope for a trumped up charge that he got dropped was attorney for the Atkins girl....the star prosecution witness. His name was Paul Caruso. But, that is another story.

Have watched a lot since I have posted, but recently have gotten stuck on some spaghetti type westerns along with a few others. Besides, saw
Hombre, Night of the Grizzly....ones I saw long ago and liked.....then some I hadn't seen before and liked.....My Name is Nobody, Joe Navajo, and Grayeagle.Signed up for Netflix again......just the streaming part. Will get all I can out of it and drop it again. Boy, did THEY ever go downhill......shame! KEITH

Funny Arthur, Just wondered why you don't answer anything I write? Guess I just never post anything interesting? Anyway, still glad you are hanging around some..........nice to see more than one or two mods every once in a while. KEITH

My goodness Tommy, didn't know you could fly without your feet....must be like a car. Have to look this up and see where to find it. They ever fix the sketch framing to your liking? Was hoping to put it up as the first multiple framed. KEITH

Spent my evening watching Reach For The Sky starring Kenneth More & Muriel Pavlow. The true story of airman Douglas Bader who overcame the loss of both legs in a 1931 flying accident to become a successful fighter pilot and wing leader during World War II.

Oh, I want THAT.....now, to find it!
I had lost my Hellfighters, so I just got another one and watched it twice last night..........Watched it again tonight.....I LOVE that movie! KEITH

Since I had the laser disc edition of "The Alamo" up and running yesterday, today I watched Brian Huberman's documentary "John Wayne and the Alamo", which is an extra. This is the full 68 minute version and not the edited 42 minute version which is on the DVD. Don't know what's missing on the DVD, but if you ever get a chance to view this, grab it. It's full of personal interviews with long deceased cast members and home movies taken in 1959 which show tons of candid material and deleted battle footage, including Duke throwing a lance head into the chest of another charging lancer.
By far the most touching scene is an interview with an aged Ken Curtis watching his young self on TV singing in "The Spirit of the Alamo" video. The documentary is dedicated to Ken.
