I love and think I will Always love Mel Gibson as an actor. I thought he was hilarious in the movie where he could read women's minds.......his facial expressions were priceless! KEITH

Nice to have you back my friend. Hope the malady that hit your family is rapidly receding!

    Hatari and Donovan's reef. KEITH

"Batman The Dark Knight Rises". An early contender for the worst movie I've seen in 2013. What a loud, pretentious and silly waste of celluloid.
I've said this before, but as God is my witness, I'll never watch another movie based on a comic book.

    We deal in lead, friend.

Nice pics, Carl. Cool to see what the movie is about.

I watched Donovan's Reef again so I could make my last post for the Group Watch. Decided to put together all I could find that came from other Pappy movies and add a little here and there. Hope some of you others will add to what I found. I know there is a lot more. This was kind of a satire of a lot of his movies, I think. Hope to post it tomorrow. KEITH

That was a beautiful Christmas Carole itself, Arthur......thanks for sharing it with us. KEITH There are some real men on this board!

LOL, DP, watched that not long ago. Rubin was played by Pat Henry. He was Frankie's opening comedy act many times....and they were very good friends. He lived two doors down from us. Jilly Rizzo lived in between. We used to have backyard swimming parties and barbecue or order food in. Pat was one of the nicest of the celebs I knew out there, (Palm Springs). He once agreed to "flash nude" when modeling a fur coat at a Celebrity Pro Am Golf Auction just to sell it at a ridiculous price to make money for the tournament! Super guy was Pat Henry! Merry Christmas, KEITH

Lady in Cement Good fun 60s movies with Frank Sinatra Raquel Welch & Dan Blocker

Guess I didn't really recognize Durning until I saw him in The Queen of the Stardust Ballroom, 1975. Guess yall knew he was an ex-boxer and a ballroom dancing instructor. Anyway, he starred with Maureen Stapleton in this and it made a lasting impression on me. He was a favorite ever since then. Guess I need to look up some of these old war movies.

By, the way, Kiddo, you are really getting GOOD....proud of you!

As for The Time of Your Life, if you like Jimmy in bust em up gangster type movies, this isn't one, LOL, although there is a fight scene that is surprising and Jimmy shows he had been something he is no longer in this movie. It is filmed completely in a local bar, restaurant, lounge. It is about the people who frequent it. Joe, (Jimmy Cagney), is the mainstay, the one who keeps everyone together and quite a step up from others there. His main goal in life seems to be to help others to better themselves. I don't believe his past history is ever really explained. It deals mainly with him as he is at the time. I liked it. Although Ward has decent billing, he is in it less than most....disappointing, but OK, LOL. KEITH

Good movie and I havent seen it since it came out. Its now on DvD. Oh and if your talking about Durning--he was in: The Final Countdown with Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen and James Farentino--which I think came out in 1980? I was at the premier of the movie which was held in my hometown of Kingsville--before they had another premier held in New York? i think? ANyway, Kirk Douglas was only a few feet from me and looked at me when he walked into the theater-same with James Farentino and Soon Tek Oh (the Japanese Fighter Pilot they captured) and I think Durning made a fe wother movies shortly after? but cant recall titles.

Almost forgot-_Durning is a WWII Vet and he fought at the Battle of the Bulge.

The Time of Your Life James Cagney
Very different movie....many characters developed as would be in a local bar, and each one different as night and day from the other. Also, Ward is in it, LOL! KEITH

I remember The Frogmen. I loved that. Saw it long before I started diving the ocean and reefs. Maybe that is what kept me in the water when I continually saw visions of "Jaws" in my mind?

Watched the Flying Tigers, another one from my childhood. KEITH

A friend posted this dance video on FB. WATCH IT. It begins with ballet, but hold on...........if you don't recognize almost everyone in this, you are either very young and don't watch classics, or you have forgotten to put your glasses on. Brings back lots of memories and reminds me of films I would love to get and see again!
Strange, I am posting Youtubes the way I used to, but they no longer work. So, just go to this link.....it is worth it for nostalgia if only! Love seeing Cagney dance down the steps! KEITH
ballet is about 50 seconds.......then comes the rest!

I know what you mean Carl. I enjoyed it too but not really sure I could tell you much of what happened now, lol!

Well, if you watched the EPISODE of the TV A TEAM that my friend Jack Ging died in, you would not forget it, LOL. He was General Bull Fullbright and it was called The Sound of Thunder. Fourth Season. Jack retired after that and is 81 now! KEITH

Paint Your Wagon and North to Alaska. Remembered most all songs from Paint, but forgot that is really was a musical. Also remembered seeing North a couple of times....had forgotten. Loved Paint and North was pretty funny. Didn't realize that was one of the times that Duke's toupee came off in the movie, LOL. I WAS surprised that they didn't refilm the scene though. Noticed it immediately and backtracked and screen capped to be sure, and there it was! Boy, he sure was going after that hat of his until they cut and switched scenes! KEITH

    Thanks Ladyhawk,

I'll have a look at that. Interesting to see the locations.

Well glad someone was interested Peter, LOL. I do not watch that thing and haven't a clue what it is like. It COULDN'T be as I imagine it, because my friends on here would not watch it if it was, LOL! One day, I will see what it is all about! KEITH

Wake of the Red Witch....love that old movie.

Also loved Towering Inferno. When in Miami, we used to talk about the possibility of that happening to the humongous Condos directly across the street from the Beach, inhabited by what we called the Condo commandos. Most were retired folks from NY. They would invade Happy Hour free brunches with pocket books lined with plastic and take their fill from the tables.....they would buy one drink at Happy Hour prices, usually half back then, and NOT leave a tip. They would also occupy seating for about an hour or so while they sipped their one drink and stuffed themselves. Ruined many a private club, they did. I barred them from my bar/restaurant right ON N. Miami Beach.....that was allowed back then, LOL. However, none of us ever wanted to see a disaster in Condo Row! KEITH
