Posts from SXViper in thread „Last Non Western You Watched“

Not sure what could be "on the viewing agenda" tonight, possibly Cool Hand Luke; again? For some reason, I feel like watching Prison movies. If I don't watch CHL, then definately it will be Colditz w/ Sir John Mills, Eric Portman, Theodor Bikel and Anton Differing.

Kind of a prison movie but a WW2 movie as well. Watch "Stalag 17", I love that one!!!

Craig does make a very good 007, doesn't he, Jay? I don't know what all the earlier talk was about concerning his fitness or unfitness for the role. IMO, he's more believable as someone "licensed to kill" than were the others. He doesn't cut the bad guys any slack.

Also, I think he's just as handsome as the others but in a much more rugged way. Not such a "pretty boy" look but still damned good looking. He looks like more of a man's man than a lady's man.

Can you believe the stuntwork in that first 10 or 15 minutes? Outta sight!!!!!

My wife and I both loved the new Bond. In fact the only thing that I had a problem with was they didn't really play the bond theme till the end of the movie.

I agree, love them. It was nice to see a fantasy story get the royal treatment. Kudos to Peter Jackson and all at WET in New Zealand.

Todd, what's Pathfinder about? Sounds like a War Movie ;-D

Oh and, just finished watching Pilot episode and episodes 2,3,4 & 5 of The Time Tunnel TV show. Darn shame that the show did not last much more than one season as its a very well made show.

    Carl,

Pathfinder is about a Viking child who was rescued from a Viking ship that crashed on the shores someplace in North America 600 years ago by a tribe of indians. The indians raise him as one of there own even though they have reservations about who he is and what he might become. Well as you probably have guessed, the Vikings come back when he has grown up and he has to make a choice. I will leave it at that, although I am sure you can probably figure out what happens next. As far as I can tell its not a true story. I shouldn't say that its a bad film or not worth seeing in the theater, its just that I thougt it could have been done much better. And the story of the Vikings is really a un-explored territory for the most part from the powers that be residing in Hollywierd, so I think it could have been much more to the story. but they focused at times on the fighting more then the story which brings us to the often bloody battles and missing appendages.

While I was in Atlanta last week I went to see 2 movies at thye theater. 300 and Pathfinder. They were both only renter's in my opinon with Pathfinder being the maybe not even a renter movie. Very bloody, that's all I can say about both films.

Saw Constantine in HD last night... I'm really falling in love with HD.

It is hard to go back after you have watched a movie or a TV show in HD.

I just wish the companies would stop with this format war and make a decision on what format they are going to use, HD-DVD or Blu-Ray. Either that or make the player that LG is selling that can play both formats cheaper, right now its around $1200.

Hi Todd, glad someone here admitted to at least watching that show. In my area--that show has not been played since the early 1980's--with the exception of it playing on TVland about 6 years ago.

    What is HD net movies?

Carl, HDNet is a High definition movie channel. They have 2 channels one that shows movies all the time and the other focuses on news shows, music, hour long dramas like Star Trek, 1/2 comedies, ect...

The movie channel is currently showing McLintock, Red River, and El Dorado(These are the Duke movies) plus many other movies that changes monthly, some good some bad, but they are all in high defintion. El Dorado was amazing on HD.

Watched another disk full of 2nd season of Hogan's Heroes. You good folks are missing out! ;-D

I am not missing out!! I have sen them so many times from reruns on the TV. Plus for awhile they were on HDNet movies like a year or so ago and I copied a bunch of them. There is some funny stuff there, for sure!!
