Posts from Gorch in thread „Charles Bronson“

Heck, he was even good as Vincent Price's silent homicidal henchman in "House of Wax". one of the films from the first 3D wave.

Bronson made one his rare appearances to plug his movies on TV for the first "Death Wish". He was amazed that it was a hit because he felt that he was too scary looking to attract muggers. He said that if he saw himself coming down a dark New York street, he would cross to the other side.
He wondered why Dustin Hoffman wasn't cast in the part.

Bronson never got over his childhood poverty. He would repeatedly compare notes with other actors, especially McQueen, about their deprivations. Bronson always recounted eating "grass soup".
While filming "The Magnificent Seven" he had viewed the dailies with a coworker. Bronson wondered if the scene where he admonishes the three Mexican boys might make him look homosexual. He was told "No way. You're too #@$%^&#$ ugly". This satisfied him.
A couple years later, he was making "Kid Galahad" with Elvis, who impressed everyone by karate-chopping a two by four. Bronson said wait a minute, got another two by four and smashed it with his clenched fist. The board didn't break and his hand was smashed to a pulp.
This is another actor whose movies I would never miss. I recall seeing "Master of the World" and "A Thunder of Drums" just because he was featured.
