As y'all know, we've been a little scarce lately. We were so excited about Keith's most recent accomplishment that we happily posted in this thread, then afterwards realized that Sue hadn't read all of your congratulatory messages for our passing 10,000 nor had we thanked all of you.

We'd like to take this opportunity to do just that - Keith, Keith P, Carl, Gorch, Robbie, Mark, and Jay - your kind expressions mean a lot to us. Of course, without you guys, it would be pretty lonely around here - we are ALL a great team, don't you think?

Hawkswill, those fireworks were pretty awesome! Thanks for that!

You have contributed an amazing amount of effort, time, and information to this message board in that 10,000+ posts (you are currently, at the time of this 'writing', 10,011, having even surpassed us - another cause for congratulations).

May you continue to be a shining light on this board for many years!

It is a privilege to know you and work with you here at the JWMB, and we thank you for your many, many, many hours devoted to making this THE best, most informative site about John Wayne, as well as one of the friendliest JW communities EVER!

Two years and seven months ago, almost to the day, we became members of this message board. Who knew at that time how far this board would go?

We've been through plenty of good times and a few not-so-good ones, but for the most part, this has been a most pleasurable pasttime .

We've made many new friends, around the world - Kevin, smokey and Hondo from almost the very beginning, and many, many more since then (too many to mention without the possibility of leaving out someone's name and causing hurt feelings ) - you know who you are!

We've said it before, and we'll say it again - we didn't get here alone - it took all of you to be part of this wonderful, ongoing conversation across the continents .

So here we are, at post #2000. We don't know what surprise (if any) awaits us at this milestone - only Kevin knows that . . . it's been nice knowing all of you . . . as we push the "Post New Topic" button . . .

Well, friends, what can we say? It is amazing the amount of information that is out there for us to find about the many performers, in particular John Wayne.

But even more than that, what we really enjoy about this place is all of you, our friends - a group that has grown over the past three years to include people from all over the globe, people we've never met but count as our friends nonetheless .

Perhaps John Wayne's 100th birthday will be the opportunity for many of us to meet face to face (will it be or or ?).

Our sincerest regards to all of you who make this the wonderful (or should we say "wayne-derful") place that it is, and it is to you that we dedicate this, our 3000th post.

5000 posts!

Who'da thunk it almost 5 years ago?

I realize that, compared to other forums, 5000 posts would be in the slacker category, but for our little community of merry men and women devoted to the memory of John Wayne, this is a first.

Here's our first "milestone" post, when we reached 100 posts ~

We tried finding our very first post, but when you try to see "All posts by this user" it currently only goes back 500 posts. We first posted here sometime in January of 2003.

This much time later, we can say that we have learned much more about John Wayne than we knew when we started here, we have gained friends around the country and the world, and we consider it a privilege to be here and know all of you!

It's been a wonderful adventure, and we look forward to continuing it for a long time to come, with you by our side.

Thanks to Kevin for this wonderful forum, and his diligent efforts to keep it going strong!

We know that when Keith so kindly paved the way for this, our 7000th post, he probably thought we'd be here a little sooner. It's been a VERY busy day . . . but we are finally having time to sit together and let you know how very much it means to be here and have all of you counted among our friends. We thought it would be fun to 'resurrect' our previous milestone posts (see below). As we read through them, we realized that 5 years and 9 months after joining this message board, what we've stated before is as much true today as it has been when we said it in the past. You guys are the BEST, and we think this is the BEST team of John Wayne fans anywhere on the face of the planet.

Chester had the distinct pleasure of making it to the birthday celebration in Winterset, Iowa and meeting face to face for the first time with some of our members (kilo6, BILL of PA, Wayne, zukie, downes, Coach3) and getting reacquainted with some old friends (John Wayne Impersonator). MANY thanks to Murray for the tickets to the VIP dinner for both Jeff and Chester - you really made it happen, Murray! An anonymous benefactor placed our message board on the walkway to the birthplace with the purchase of a tribute brick (check it out in our photo album ).

Some of our members banded together to provide a special gift to board founder Kevin. Boy, was he surprised when that painting arrived from England from Graham. Thanks to all who made that happen!

We've been members here for over 6 years, and continue to have our hearts warmed by the fellowship we have found here. We have friends from all around the world!! Though we not have met most of you in person, we have come to know many of you, and count you as friends.

We dedicate this 8000th post to you!

Post number 10,000

Well, it's taken awhile to get here . . . and a GREAT while it's been!

We have made many friends from all around the world and the United States, and had the privilege of actually meeting some of those friend face to face.

We've learned more about John Wayne than we would have ever imagined. We knew he was a great actor, but we learned so much more about him. Who'd have thought, 10 years ago, that we would be (among our local friends, at least) the John Wayne experts? With the help of so many of you, that is the case!

We know it will be just a short while before we will be welcoming our friend Keith (aka ethanedwards) across the threshold to join us in the 10,000+ Posts Club! Looking forward to that day!

In January 2013, we will have been hanging out here for 10 years!!! We look forward to many more days, weeks, months, and years of being here with this amazing group of Duke fans!
