Was surprised how good and entertaining this was, good history lesson aswell. It's great watching Duke grow on screen.

Outstanding photos, Larry.
Question: why do the stills have the letters "AF" before the still number instead of "AU"? It leads me to believe that the title of the movie had been changed at the last minute. Does anyone know if the original title had been Allegheny Frontier or something like that?We deal in lead, friend.

When it's on t.v over here it's always called The First Rebel so I wouldn't be surprised if there had been issues with the name. Having checked on IMDB Gorch apparently it had a working title of Allegheny Frontier before becoming Uprising.

I was really surprised several months ago to discover that Duke had done a colonial-era film. I really enjoyed it! Of course, it wasn't as good as "Stagecoach", but John Wayne and Claire Trevor are always great together. I really enjoyed the acting of Wilfrid Lawson and Chill Wills as well.
