I'm reading William W. Johnstone's "The First Mountain Man: Blackfoot Messiah". If you haven't read any of the late author's works, you should. They are right up John Wayne's alley.

I sense a reprise of 1994 coming, thank goodness.
I have to agree with Stumpy. I'm predicting a big loss for the Democrats just like they did in 1994. The Democrats kicked out the moderates, independents, and ex-Republicans who helped them win in 2008. Then they turned around and alienated the Christians and are relying, wholly, upon support from the far-left. They felt that they had a mandate to rule as they want to but now are finding themselves surprised to see resistance (and not all from the Republican side; God bless Libertarians and Blue-Dog Democrats) to their socialist agenda.

I just watched this film again last Friday for free on Google video. It's one of my favorite JW films.

Yeah, they are. I watched my son's Boy Scout Leader and had to chuckle on how he was trying so hard to be a drill sergeant. I leaned over to my wife and said, "that man has seen too many war movies."

I'm a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penn State Nittany Lions

Not really sure. It just kind of grew on me over time. I started liking his war movies the best but then swung on over to his Westerns.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm sorry I haven't been on this board in a bit. I just reset my password. I'll be contributing more.

Hi everyone,
My name is Mike and I live near Philadelphia, PA. I'm 42 and am a recently 'retired' Navy Vet (retired as a Chief). I've been a Duke fan for most of my life. My favorite films of his are "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance", "The Cowboys", "The Searchers", "Sands of Iwo Jima" and "In Harms Way". I'm married and have three great children (ages 19, 17 and 13). Besides Westerns, I love baseball, blues music, writing and playing the harmonica. I'm looking forward to speaking with all you.
Best regards,
Mike
