Do you have Encore Westerns channel? They run the early seasons of Gunsmoke. They run 2 shows everynight back to back.

That's cool. No, I don't have that channel. TVLand is where I watch it, if it's the only good thing on.

The only western-anything that I will watch occasionally is Gunsmoke, the t.v. show. I've only seen a few episodes of it though. For some reason I never feel like watching western movies other than John Wayne ones!

I, of course, don't have any tattoos and I probably won't ever get any. My brother is 24 and he has some that are black & white. Sorry I have no pictures of 'em but they are on his upper arms. One is a cross (because we're Christian), one is a shield with some stuff in it that I don't remember. He also has a cool "MWA", which are his initials. The last one is some design across his arm like the one you have in the second picture below the "caper" thing.

I don't have a cell phone (don't want one and couldn't afford one anyway), but my sister does. The songs she has on are Wouldn't It Be Nice by the Beach Boys (I like them), and the Brady Bunch theme song. It's my favorite show! :D

These are "Church Bloopers" :D There is NO way I can read some of these without laughing out loud!!

The Rector will preach his farewell message after which the choir will sing "Break Forth into Joy."

Our next song is "Angels We Have Heard Get High."

    ------------------
This one's called "Getting a wee bit deaf".

Man went to his doctor saying that he thought his wife was deaf but did not want to upset her by asking direct, what could he do?

The doctor said, "Go into the room and, if his wife had her back to him, just say something in a normal voice and move forward saying the same thing until she hears".

The man went home and, finding his wife at the kitchen sink with her back to him said, "What's for dinner dear?".

No reply, so he moved forward and repeated, "What's for dinner dear?". Still no reply.

Moves still nearer and again says "What's for dinner dear?". Still no acknowledgement.

He then positions himself just a foot behind her and again says "What's for dinner dear?".

She answers, "For the fourth time, shepherds pie!".

I have seen McLintock!, Donovan's Reef, Angel & the Bad Man ("We're friends."......."Friends of who?" lol :D ) and North To Alaska.

And surprisingly I have seen The Cowboys once. My mom didn't really want me to watch it, but once it came on t.v. and she was too busy talking to my brother to notice it was starting, and she just let me watch the rest of it.

BTW- This has nothing to do with this discussion.......I don't think I've said that my second favorite JW movie has to be Chisum. I LOVE that one! Isn't it so cool?!

    Bonnie,

What movies does your mom let you watch? I don't really want my almost 9 year old to watch Big Jake. Compared to many other John Wayne movies, it was quite a bit more graphic as far as the violence goes - I remember being very surprised by that, and not allowing him to continue watching it. Have you seen the Indiana Jones movies? I would say they would be similar in "gory-ness." If you've seen Indie, you should be allowed to watch Big Jake.

No, I haven't seen the Indiana Jones movies, but I think she would let me watch them. I think I would be perfectly fine watching Big Jake, but I'll ask her sometime what she thinks about it. She doesn't want me to watch the movie "Tora, Tora, Tora", so she might not like me to watch The Green Berets. Oh well, I'll just ask her later.

I was just thinking, since I'm older now than I was a few years ago, maybe my mom will let me watch some of the movies she thought would be too violent back then, like Big Jake and The Green Berets. Are those even that violent??

This is fun getting back into The Duke again! ^^

Thanks guys! You are a really nice group.

Cole Thornton-- I like your signature.

Something kinda cool is my sister went to Ireland a few years ago, and she walked right where John Wayne walked while filming The Quiet Man. And she got me two wood black & white pictures of scenes from The Quiet Man, and they're still hanging on my wall.

I'm 14 years old and have been a John Wayne fan since I was about 10. 2 years ago I stopped being such a big fan (for a stupid reason I don't feel like sharing right now), but I still like to sometimes watch a John Wayne movie. My dad got me into John Wayne and I've read some books about him. My favorite JW movie is El Dorado. I've watched it about 40 times! I have every line memorized. And my dad has every line memorized of Rio Bravo, which is his favorite. I love message boards, and I thought the only kind I'm not on is a John Wayne one. So here I am. :D

Are there any other young fans here?
