Geez he was a man not a idol on a pedestal. A lot loved JFK too while he was alive they did not call that era Camelot for nothing yet after he was dead, the stories of his affairs and other issues came out. Not one person living or dead is perfect nor should they be. Lets accept the duke for what he was A hell of a actor who loved this country and showed it and was a hell of a man faults and all. Sounds what a publisher would say it sells books.

A friend just gave me a John Wayne book of his films. Nice book I have a magazine that was printed in the 70's that has a listing and synopsis of all his films with pics this adds to it. Mark Ricci and two other authors wrote the book.

Might be this is the one I was thinking of?
I've always followed my father's advice: he told me, first to always keep my word and, second, to never insult anybody unintentionally. If I insult you, you can be goddamn sure I intend to. And, third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble.John Wayne
    US movie actor & director (1907 - 1979)
I thought he was talking to Ricky Nelson when they were walking down the sidewalk checking out the town but like I said I could be wrong. Or it could have been one of the other movies of the three.

Glad I found this forum I am a huge JW fan

My Question is with out watching the three movies again though I will eventually I have begun a tape collection and DVD. Every one knows JW classic quote in the Shootist:

    Quote

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people, I require the same from them.

Now I could be wrong but I thought JW used a similar line the Howard Hawks Trilogy movies in either Rio Bravo, Rio Lobo or El Dorado or was it some other movie or am I on the wrong track?
