Wow! I just saw this movie a month ago for the first time. I was completely blown away. I have highly recommended it to some of my “casual” Duke fans. Well done story- light touch with good ending. And he was so handsome!

It's been a long time since I've watched this movie. I'll have to pull it out and give another watch!

Elvis didn’t have nothing on those sideburns!
Having spent a lifetime watching John Wayne movies and then seeing this one for the first time was a bit of a culture shock-but a pleasant one. Who would have thought he could have pulled off playing the role of a pharmacist? But he did! Quite well I thought. -

In Old California is one of my favorites of Duke’s movies! I love that he did something different and did it so well! It’s so sad that the public of the time didn’t appreciate it and he always wanted to please his audience! I love seeing him doing different roles! He had so much more to offer! Loved him in The Barbarian and the Geisha and in Shepherd of the Hills as well... he was terrific in all of them!

The Barbarian and the Geisha was just ok in my book, but like you, I loved The Shepherd of the Hills. I watch it more than others, less than just a few.
