I'm glad you stopped by, Popol Vuh! I am still here, as well. By God, it has been 20 years! Where has the time gone? This forum sure has stood well against the passing of time.

I'm in Maryland, Itdo. Grew up in Baltimore, where movies have been made over the years. But I don't think Duke ever stepped foot in my neck of the woods.

It's amazing that you can still track down these locations. I envy you, traveling to all these film sites. Because of your wonderful book, I get to see them all, as well.
Mark
It's amazing the mark he and Duke made in films was so great, they are still talked about (good and bad) this many years after they left us.
Mark
Great job! It must feel great giving new life to something so old.
Mark
Sad news, indeed. May she rest in peace.

That is a really cool picture. That type of glimpse back in time is one of the things I love about the opening of The Shootist. The using of clips from Duke's past movies as showing the progression of J.B. Book's past was pure genius!
Mark
I really like this picture. I think Henry Hathaway is directing Robert Duvall how he wants Lucky Ned Pepper to play this scene.

Very nice. One of the few books I haven't got myself.

Back at ya! May you and yours enjoy the holidays. Merry Christmas!

Rest in peace, Dean.
Hey, Kcat! Happy anniversary join date! Thanks for checking in. I'm sure Duke had one heck of a birthday party in heaven. One day we may celebrate with him....just not yet. lol
Mark
Rest in Peace, Mr. Brown.

. I grabbed my....
ass! I spun...
They couldn't cancel Duke, so they picked on the little guys who worked with Duke. Wow.
Mark
I just love your now and then pictures. I stare at them and am surprised at how little things have changed in most. You must have bloodhound in your blood to hunt up all these great spots!
Mark
an unholy cry.....
There is a book on Amazon that lists all of Dukes filming locations. I hope to do the entire tour someday.
If your talking about the book, John Wayne Was Here by Roland Schaefli, it is a great read. The author is a member on this forum and goes by the name Itdo. I highly recommend buying it.
