Merry Christmas to you and yours!

This was one of the last JW films I watched, because of the bad press and history that came from it. I hate to admit it, but it wasn't the train wreck I expected. It will never rank up high on my list, but I'd watch it again ...... like, if I was bored or something. lol

Wow......all I can say is wow! Who wouldn't love to own that gun. But that kind of money blew my mind. If I was a rich man, I'd have been in the thick of that bidding myself, so I can't be shocked at what it went for. But still.....WOW!

Andrew Prine is the kind of old actor you could just sit there and listen to him tell stories for hours. I enjoyed this clip!

Great interview! Makes me want to pull the film out again and give it a watch. I've read the book and the endings are totally different. I'm glad they did change it for the film. I've also read The Last Shootist, and thought it a very good read as well. It was a seamless continuation of the first book. Thanks for sharing this, Kevin.

Hello muvywriter, and welcome to the forum. That was quite enjoyable to listen to. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Thanks for the heads up, Paula. I'm sure we'll all be keeping an eye out for it!

I'm glad you stopped by, Popol Vuh! I am still here, as well. By God, it has been 20 years! Where has the time gone? This forum sure has stood well against the passing of time.

I'm in Maryland, Itdo. Grew up in Baltimore, where movies have been made over the years. But I don't think Duke ever stepped foot in my neck of the woods.

It's amazing that you can still track down these locations. I envy you, traveling to all these film sites. Because of your wonderful book, I get to see them all, as well.

It's amazing the mark he and Duke made in films was so great, they are still talked about (good and bad) this many years after they left us.

Great job! It must feel great giving new life to something so old.

Sad news, indeed. May she rest in peace.

That is a really cool picture. That type of glimpse back in time is one of the things I love about the opening of The Shootist. The using of clips from Duke's past movies as showing the progression of J.B. Book's past was pure genius!

I really like this picture. I think Henry Hathaway is directing Robert Duvall how he wants Lucky Ned Pepper to play this scene.

Very nice. One of the few books I haven't got myself.

Hey, Kcat! Happy anniversary join date! Thanks for checking in. I'm sure Duke had one heck of a birthday party in heaven. One day we may celebrate with him....just not yet. lol
