Maybe Collins could work to help get financing to restore the film? Just a thought.
BTW, does anyone know whatever happened to that project? Robert Harris sounded like he was all set and ready to go, and they were even collecting donations for financing, then the whole thing seemed to drop off the face of the planet. I haven't heard anything about it for over a year.

I haven't heard nor seen a thing on all the websites I frequent. I am guessing that the economy has something to do with any holdup's on the project. I just hope that it doesn't get placed to far on the back burner.

I think it is called "studio backing". The western's just don't bring in the big dollars anymore. If you have the Open Range DVD, the 2nd disc has a interview with Kevin and he talks about the frustrations of getting backing for a western movie.

With my past views on Kevin you know my thoughts on this movie. I will say this, my wife and I absolutely love that movie. Lot's of great actors are in it.

On a side note, we watched "Open Range" again on Saturday night. Man that gun fight doesn't get old to watch.

I concur with all your thoughts on Patricia Neal. One question I have though is she had a series of strokes at a young age, I believe she was 39 when the first one happened. Was In Harm's Way filmed before or after she had the strokes? If you watch the movie it is tough to tell if she did or didn't show some signs.

I agree with the rest of you. Last night they were showing McLintock on AMC and it was from 7-10pm CST, about the same time Encore Westerns was showing McLintock and it was 1 hour shorter movie with no commercials.

By the way, right now on Encore Westerns is "The Fastest Gun Alive" with Glenn Ford. I like that movie!!

I agree, his best films were roughly his 1st 5. Above the Law, Marked for Death, Hard to Kill, Out for Justice, and Under Siege. The 2 that I liked the most were Under Siege and Out for Justice. He became kind of a parity of himself after those movies and never "re-invented" himself after the "tough guy" films faded away. I hope these allegations are not true and he finds a way to right the ship.

Sure wish Adobe would hurry up and get their Flash add-on for 64-bit machines operational. Not being a computer geek, I don't understand why it's taking so long.

I hear your frustration as many other's do as well. Have you downloaded the 32 bit version of IE as a work around until they release it?

Well, Minnesota is not generally known as "tornado alley". I guess we just got unlucky......... Things have quieted down somewhat. Still some possibilities for severe weather this evening. But the weekend is looking nice, which will be good because they need nice weather to cleanup the mess.

I live about 85 miles from the area and by the time the storms got to us all it did was rain heavy and lots of wind. Some straightline wind damage but nothing like the tornado cause in my home town.

Well, we just went through a bunch of storms here in SE Minnesota. My home town of Albert Lea doesn't sound like they made it through safely. Roughly 3 dozen tornados reported, many houses damaged or completely destroyed. My parents seem to be ok, my brother has damaged to he roof, it's dark so hard to tell till the morning. There is a triage center at the local hospital. Gonna be a rough night for them in that area. Pray for the best outcome. I will let you know more if I hear anything.

Hello all, I was not sure if anyone mentioned this but Criterion just released there version of Stagecoach this week. It has a much improved picture and many extras not seen before, a 1 hour interview with Ford himself, plus many other things. And for you Blu-Ray HD people they also released the Blu-Ray HD version as well. I have the Criterion collection of The Seven Samurai directed by Akira Kurosawa and the do a excellent job with these older films and have many extras that are very interesting. I will be adding this to my collection as soon as I can.

Here is a link to the Blu-Ray on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi…0393SFWU/thedigitalbit-20 and here is the Deep Discount DVD link: http://www.deepdiscount.com/in…3-4624-BC2C-7B332F52AD6E/

If you just want the regular non Blu-Ray Criterion DVD do a search on either website.

schnapp, welcome to the board. Good to see another Minnesotan here. Any questions just ask, this is a very knowledgable group and they can answer just about everything you might have a question about John Wayne. Good luck in getting all the John Wayne movies, I have been at it for about 10 years now and I have about 10-20 left of the ones that have been released.
