Don't judge a Tom Selleck movie by Monte Walsh. It took me a few viewings and then it will grow on you. And yes the Carradines were good.(David Carradine was supposed to be in it also). It 's not your typical shoot em up. If you want to see 2 good Selleck Westerns, check out Last Stand at Saber River and Crossfire Trail. Saber River has David and Keith Carradine in it. Also I do think Selleck is the best since theDuke, mainly because if you watch his westerns and you feel he dominates the film and/or the scenes he's in or you feel he is in charge of the situation, much the way the Duke was, then you would have to feel the same way. Don't get me wrong, there's only one John Wayne, but Tom Selleck is the only actor that makes me feel like I do when I watch a John Wayne movie.

Just to throw in my 2cents I 'm glad to see Tom Selleck's name included. If I had to make a list I think it would be:
    1-John Wayne
    2-Tom Selleck
    3-Gary Cooper
    4-Clint Eastwood
    5-Sam Elliott
    Supporting Stars-1Ward Bond
    2Ben Johnson
    3Victor McLaglen
    4Walter Brennen
I think it's time Selleck and Elliott get back in the saddle again in a movie.

    Hey Folks,
Just came on board! I'm a member of DHC and decided to give the discussion board a try. Hope I see some of the other DHCers hop on also. I think we're all interested in the same things,John Wayne and good westerns. I've been on several birthday parties with Ermal and we've had a ball. Hope to see some of you there one year soon.
By the way, along with the Duke I also have a fondness for the western films of Tom Selleck. I think he has the presence on screen to be in the same group as the greats.
I recently returned from a film fair in N.C.
Some of the old western stars such as Dale Robertson,Hugh O'Brian and James Drurey were there. Had a great time. Highly recommend it if you haven't attended one. Well, I just thought I'd get my feet wet and say hi! Until next time
