    We were spoiled, but we are approaching some crossroads that is in my opinion compromising our freedom and the way we choose our leaders. The leaders we have today are not representing the people of this country. That is why I do not trust anyone in Washington. You can blame it on money, corruption, or scandal, but it is us that are not taking the time to see to our country's needs. And it is slipping away from us.

    We are losing our power like you've never seen before. For example we are forced to take an insurance that will not help anyone but the politicians. And they will determine who gets what and dare I say, who lives or dies. This is not their job. This is suppose to be our responsibility. How dare they do this. Oh, we let them do it. There are other issues we are starting to compromise other principles too. Let's start with transportation, education, housing, wealth, food, and many more things. This will truly be a country divided with liberals and the rest of us. The liberals will rule us with no rules or laws and we will be their subjects.

    This will be the most interesting time in our history for the next year, and we as Americans have to make some very hard decisions that will affect the future of this country. If we don't take control of our country (the United States), we will loose what we know as our freedom forever. The Immigration bill, the gun battle, are just examples of smoke and mirrors on this country right now. We are seeing every bit of our lives challenged and we must take total control.

    By the way, I don't trust anyone in Washington.

    This is about responsible leadership and tolerance to make this a great country. There was a time when us locals took care of our own. Now we want the government to it. And the way they do it is not acceptable to us. We use to depend on our churches to feed the needy. Now, the churches are too busy trying to entertain the congregation. The churches in all denominations are telling us to let the government take care of the poor. We've lost our edge. We are too busy with our gadgets to help our neighbors. Is this what we've become?

    In a years time we are going to have to make some hard decisions. What will we do?

  • Lincoln (2012)

    Lincoln. This was an interesting movie. Should have been named The 13th Amendment. That was the point of the whole movie and it was good, but just tedious to watch for 2 and a half hours. It was alright, but expected something completely different.

  • How's The Weather

    We had a good day yesterday, only 53F, but sunny. Not so sunny today. A chance of rain, and around 59F. The sun helps make it feel good. The clouds make it feel colder. Should be an uneventful week next week with some rain, some sun but around 60 for highs. Cold mornings for Central Alabama around the upper 30's.

    I just watched him Sunday week ago on TCM in 3 Godfathers. What a great movie and seeing such an icon leave us is so sad. It saddens me to see them all go. And he was so good. Not the biggest actors out there, but seemed to have a big heart.



    R.I.P. Dobe. You're walking to the sunset to see your dad, Duke, Pappy, and so many others. It is sad to see them go. What a life!

  • Last Non Western You Watched

    Peerfect Pitch is a movie about college kids competing in an acapella group nationally. It is a comedy and has its moments. If you like music, and I mean today's (going back 30 years), you may enjoy this movie.

    I was warned to not eat anything while watching this movie. I'll pass this along to you. More for the young people in 20's and 30's. But not to restrict this to the older ones out there.

    Ted is not a kids movie. Not at all. I really didn't like the movie. It offended me, and the material was not funny or good. If you like disgusting fowl language from a teddy bear, maybe you'll like it. I didn't.

  • How's The Weather

    Seasonal year now. It is cool outside with off and on showers. Yes, we had tornados on Christmas day, the first time in recorded history to have tornados on this holiday, but we had 15 on this day. And the storms were south of us a close as 30 miles away.

    I am some 180 miles from Mobile which was hit with the storms. We just saw a very rainy day with lots of rain. Then it got very cold and windy then warmer then wet again, then cold, and now we are about to get another rain period to bring in the New Year. So it has been a rollercoaster of sorts for the past 10 days.

    But we need the rain. No snow right now. None in the forcast. Happy New Year.
