Welcome. I own all of JW's movies and I agree with you about how you can forget about reality and enjoy a good JW movie. I recently purchased the new DVD special editions of Searchers and Rio Bravo. I once drove all the way to the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Okahoma with $2000 in my pocket to buy JW merchandise and they didn't have a single thing I didn't already own. Too funny. Again, welcome.

Hi. There is a man down near Willcox where I live that claims he owned Dollar and that John Wayne came to him when they were making a movie. He had already paid to rent all these horses and cattles and he offered to buy Dollar and the man refused... until after the movie was finished! I also met a cowboy here that says he trained Cochise for El Dorado.

Someone took the time to correct my spelling of Dollar. this is the way it was spelled in the newspaper article by the man who owned the horse originally. I will be very careful in postings in the future.

Hello. I am very new to message boards and non-work related computer usage in general. I am a die hard John Wayne fan. I own a great deal of memorabilia. I live in Mescal, Arizona so I get to hear alot of Duke stories from a variety of people who claim to have known him. I have an artist that knew him who has done beautiful oil paintings for me. Really captures his eyes. I hang out alot in Tombstone, Old Tucson and Gammon's Gulch. Remember the little boy banging the drum in the funeral procession in Rio Bravo? He has built a western town out here. His father was Duke's bodyguard when he was filming at Old Tucson. Looking forward to chatting about my hero. My latest T-shirt states: I am the Only John Wayne left in this town! and it is true!
