I think you'll like both of 'em - they're both pretty good movies, though I think the acting by all concerned is better in "Bonnie & Clyde". IMO, the only "natural" acting individual in "Pork Chop Hill" was by Gregory Peck.
Just finished Pork Chop Hill which I liked a lot. Gregory Peck was good but there were some other familiar faces in minor roles (George Peppard, Henry Dean Stanton, Woody Strode, Martin Landau ...)

Chinatown is a great Movie.
My last one was Chaos a nice time-waster action thriller.
My next movies will be Pork Chop Hill and Bonny & Clyde. Two classics I've not watched before.

I watched the new "Star Trek" movie with the family. That movie is excellent, even better in Blu-ray. I am going to try and watch it again really soon.
Need to get a Blue-Ray Player soon. I enjoyed Star Trek in cinema as well.
BTW Is there a thread John Wayne on Blue-Ray already?

A great Movie and always enjoyable ! One of my favourite Westerns of all Time.

What a Great Movie!
Good story with well written characters and dialogues. Borden Chase should have got the Academy Award for it.
Brilliant actors/actresses. Duke's Performance as Dunsion is priceless. Maybe this Movie made me a fan of John Wayne the actor. One of his best performances and at least he should have got a nomination for the Academy Award for it. It's a pity that he and Montgomery Clift didn't made more movies together.
Astonishing photography which make some people think this could have been a John Ford Movie.
Not to forget Howard Hawks. Simply unbelieveable that Red River is the first Western he directed.
IMO one of the best Westerns ever and probably the best movie about a cattle drive.

YES I appreaciate Burt Lancaster too. I also like Valdez is Coming and The Leopard. The Birdman of Alcatraz is my favourite movie with him. :teeth_smile:

I like the Coen Brothers but they should not touch a perfect movie. They already made a remake of a classic: The Ladykillers with Tom Hanks instead of the great Alec Guiness. IMO a rather mediocre movie somehow entertaining but not as good as the fantastic original.
The same will happen to a perfect western like True Grit. John Wayne is perfect as Rooster Cogburn and no else would come close that. A new Actor as Rooster Cogburn will only be a bad copy. BTW Warren Oates tried to be Cogburn as well in the TV Show and failed.
Some comments like "This one will be closer to the original" aren't promising.
The only good thing about it is that Westerns are still made.
