The best Idea of all, is to have a Duke film on in the background,
a galss of booze in the left hand, and the mouse, in the right hand,
and this here, web-site, lit up, in front of you.
Now that's life, how it should be!

    Thanks Jay,
I appreciate that, and thank you, and everyone, else on board,
for making my stay here, a very happy one.
I hope that I can continue to contribute.

    STUMPY,
You must be my dad too, am I your illegitimate son?
I never liked Robert Vaughan, and never will,.
In fact I thought, he was very weak, in the M7.

Many of you, will also recall, Olivia Newton John(John Travalotas, co-star,in Grease)
    also, suffered a similar problem.
She is very much, an active part of the fight, for awareness of this condition, and has been, very supportive, for Kylie

Thanks for this interesting subject, giving us limeys an insight!
Here in England, gun ownership is very strict, and only limited, to members of gun clubs, and of course the criminal element.
Guns, in the home as protection, being illegal.
There was a interesting case, recently, when a farmer, shot dead, an intruder
He was imprisoned, for the crime, but there was such a public outcry, that his sentence, had to be repealed.
Since that case, the UK government, has shifted, on the Law, and although, guns are still not allowed, in homes, you are now allowed to use,
reasonable force!!, to repel, any intruders, from your home,
without the fear of being punished.

Likewise, Rio Bravo, but I can't remember his hat being shot, but it was battered.
The films, I think he wore those shirts in are:-
    STAGECOACH
    ANGEL AND THE BADMAN
    FORT APACHE
    RED RIVER
    SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON
    RIO GRANDE
    HONDO(but not blue!)
    THE SEARCHERS
    RIO BRAVO
    THE HORSE SOLDIERS
    NORTH TO ALASKA
    THE COMMANCHEROS
THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE
HOW THE WEST WAS WON(maybe under his coat!)
    McLINTOCK!
    SONS OF KATIE ELDER

And I can't remember his hat, being shot, in those either!!
The one film, I do remember, when this happened, is when LEE VAN CLEEF shot CLINTS hat, lot of times, with his long hand-gun.

Without going in to, too much detail,I'm sure smokie will agree!
Kylie is in fact an Australian pop star, who started out
in a soap opera there, called, Neighbours.
She went on to become a singer, and is a huge star
in the UK,Europe, Asia and Asia, and of course, Australia, and is worth some $64m !!!
She is a very sexy lady, with a raunchy act, and is acclaimed for her cute butt!!!
I'm sure dedicated Duke fans, are not bothered about things like that
as Duke said, in The Train Robbers,

"I have a saddle older than you"

But as I posted earlier, it is a real tragedy, that anyone, should suffer,
the Big C, and she is no exception!

I'd like to remind you, Emmanuel, that I'm still alive, and I'll have one or more of those black beers, with you, anytime.

Here I think is a most fitting tribute to Jack Elam:-
He was in PAT GARRETT & BILLY THE KID,
In it, his part was Alamosa Bill,
In the film, his dying words, were,

    "AT LEAST I'LL BE REMEMBERED"

Before I joined this wonderful web-site, I used to slouch around in the easy chair, just watching Dukes's films.
Now life has improved so much, because I'm now constantly
    exercising, moving this mouse around!!
Thanks everyone, for improving the quality of my life!

    Ringo and Smokey,
    Thanks for your replies.
Ringo, I didn't say, but the Sherman tank, is on display, above the beach
at Slapton Sands, and every year, lots of your Vets hold a memorial service there, last year of course, being the biggest gathering.
Until quite recently, the writer of a detailed account of that tragedy, stood by the tank, and sold his book,to visitors.
Without going into the details, on this thread, the whole operation was a complete shambles!, and I'm sure when you research it, you'll agree!!

Just got to thinking more about this thread!
Ringo, you probably know from your friends and your knowledge of the war, that Torquay, was an intricate part involving the US troops.Particually involving the D-Day landings.
Nearby Slapton Sands, of course being the scene of the disastrous, "Practice" for that awful time. So many of your countrymen lost their lives on this beach in Devon.
It is a place of pligrimage, for both Americans and Brits alike, and with the sight of the Sherman tank, that was one of the many that sank as soon it was launched, adding an eerie reminder, of those fateful few hours!
The concrete slipways, in both Torqauy and Brixham harbours, were both built by the Americans, and I might add, still survive today, and are of great pride to the locals.
The houses, were American troops were billeted, still stand today,.
The hotels in this holiday resort, many of which were turned into temporary hospitals, to accomodate, returning, injured US troops are still here.
Jimmy Stewert, being one of them, was in one of those "hotels"
During his stay, he stayed in and visited one of the local hotels in Babbacombe Road, Torquay, and even though, married, apparently fell in love with the singer/piano player, and he wrote her, untill he died. Her family, publishing her letters, in the local newspaper,
    a couple of years ago!
How strange my little seaside town, can be so closely connected to you all ll!!
