Hi Jim, I love the movie as well. If I recall? I THINK EJ had posted about its release or a friend fo mine from England (on another site) posted about it. I cant remember which? Anyway, when I first heard about it being released-I could swear that it was an on demand title. Glad to see it isnt.
It is on-demand. Amazon has been selling on-demand stuff from the Warner Archive, and elsewhere, for a while now (at a hyper-inflated price, I might add). If you want it, make sure you buy it directly from the Warner Archive (which, incidentally, happens to have it on sale right now for just $14.16, it's regularly $19.95, which still beats the heck out of Amazon's $24.29).
The caption on this picture references sometihing about a Rudy Bowman (presumably the guy on the left) and some sort of throat injury. Anybody know the back story on this one? Seems like there must be one.
I believe this was from the second episode of The Dean Martin Show (they reference Sinatra during the dialogue, who I believe was Dean's first ever guest on the first episode of The Dean Martin Show).
She was Mike Mazurki's girlfriend, if I remember right.
As I just discussed elsewhere on the site with Ringo, Wagon Train: The Complete Season Four, has been released on DVD here in the US. According to the reviews posted on Amazon, it does include "The Colter Craven Story" as part of the set.
Ringo, I believe this may be what you sure talking about. If I remember right, I believe that "The Colter Craven Story" episode occurred during season four of Wagon Train, so it should be part of this box set.

Not sure if Anita Ekberg (from Blood Alley) has her own thread here on the board, but I stumbled onto this and was very sorry to hear it. She was also in the Batjac-produced Man in the Vault, as well. She was a very beautiful lady, back in the day. Terrible to hear about her troubles now.
Me too. I also liked The "Cincinnati Kid".
Agreed 100%. I also think that The Reivers is very under-rated. A personal favorite of mine.
Love the scene where Duke smashes George Kennedy in the mouth. . . Classic Duke!!!
Proud to be born when he was president of the good 'ole U.S. of A.
A very underrated actor, and a fine gentleman, to boot.
Thanks, ethan. Do we have threads for Bob Hope, James Dean, Frank Sinatra, Errol Flynn & Bing Crosby, too? Heck, how 'bout one for Elvis (after all, he was originally supposed to play the Glen Campbell role in True Grit)? BTW, feel free to delete or move these posts elsewhere, I realize they are off-topic.
Totally the wrong place for this, but I was just wondering if we could get a Screen Legends thread for Duke's good friend, Ronald Reagan.
Display MoreHi Everyone,
To us Duke fans, it's no secret that getting quality releases of his early movies can be a chore. There is an endless supply of collections that have been released by companies such as...
Mill Creek, Delta, Pop Flix, Good Times Video, Madacy, Passport, Alpha Entertainment, Image Entertainment, Plus More...
My question is this...
Has anyone here gone through the process of buying and comparing the quality of these releases to see which set has the best quality both in terms of video and audio?
This information would be immensely valuable to me, and surely to the other members of our community.
Thanks and happy new year!
Chris Elliott
On a movie-by-movie basis, no, I haven't done any comparison, and I doubt anyone else has, either. These companies seem to be fairly transient, and there seem to be new ones coming and going, all the time. If you go to this thread, there are actually links to the Internet Archives, where all of Duke's public domain movies can be downloaded, free of charge. If you wanted to, you (or anyone else) could could download them and burn them to DVD yourself. In general, though, I would avoid Good Times, Madacy, and Alpha at all costs. Their products are usually not worth paying a penny for (especially Alpha). I will say that I have had generally positive experiences with Image Entertainment and Platinum Disc Corp. Hope this helps.
The Adventures of Tintin (2011) in 3D. As a huge fan of the comic books, I must say I was pretty impressed by this movie adaptation. A winner!!!
Am about to order the final installment of the Warner Gangster movies sets I dont yet have which is set nr 2? I think?
There are 4 Warner Gangster collections and 1 Warner "Tough Guys" collection:
