I had to watch EL Dorado just to see that handsome spotty..Magnificent Appy :chickawow:

The dukes horse in 'The train robbers' had the ability to change his socks and stripe..... as for the baddies their horses could gallop flat out all through the movie without resting, eating or drinking... A remarkable feat considering a top TB can only race for a mile or so before needing a break .. Yes I know it's only a movie.....

Not a bad film worth watching with a great twist in the end. The chemistery between the actors was brilliant.. I love JWs 'my way or the highway' attitude ..I see the Duke had a MAJIC horse who could change the stripe on his face to a blaze , then back again at the start when they all set off..kind of like the majic paint horse in Hildalgo who could change his coat pattern:))):

Ok I just finished watching The Searchers.. Pity it was filmed in no mans land , Monument Valley . Surely they could have picked a better location than a desert. One look and a blind man could see you can't run cattle on that country..:bs: Still a good movie bar the s**** location.. When you see movies like the original My Friend Flicka filmed in beautiful country which would have made a far better back drop for this JW film..

I just watched El Dorado. Good humor and story line with a couple of beautiful women thrown in. Havent seen it in years. I JUST love the spotty bum [ Appaloosa ] JW rides in that movie. He was quite a horseman..

Hi from Australia. I am 50 year old male who grew up with the great westerns of the past. Always loved the Duke and still enjoy his movies.
He fired up my passion for horses when I was a small boy and I now own 11 of which my favorite is my American paint horse. I have most of JWs westerns on DVD from his very first to his last. Here in OZ we still have cowboys working the massive cattle stations outback just like in the dukes movies.
