Hi ka2mxh. As usual I'm the slow poke welcoming new people here - so WELCOME! BTW - My birthday will be in September when I'll be turning 69. So I'm glad we have another member of the Seniors here.

Thank you, JJ. I last was in San Antonio in March 1960 at the Lackland USAF Basic Training Base. Then to Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls for Aircraft Mechanic Training. From there I was sent to Schilling AFB in Salina Kansas at the USAF SAC base there. The world I knew and grew up in was a far different world than it is today.

My first trip away from home on my own, like so many others. It was a great experience. Too bad they stopped the Draft.

    I didn't see a Thanks Button, so I thought I'd post this:

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that posts in JWMB!

Each and everyday people post links to anything and everything (including advice ) that we want and we need!

And yes many are not recognized!

So this is a thank you to all the posters!

Even though your sought after post still remains "thank-less"......

    THANK YOU!

Thank you, ethanedwards. I don't know what I can contribute to this fine group. I have strolled through many of the sections and anything here is everything I have, and then some. As a matter of fact, I've found more of my hero here that I could wish for. Perhaps someone will ask me to do some special thing, like sweeping, cutting the grass, etc. But I'm sure in time, I'll find something. Thanks to all.

By the way, that ka2mxh is my ham radio call.

hi ka2mxh glad to have you aboard are you a shelia or a bloke as we need to have more shelias on board not enough of us.

enjoy your reading stay a while lights are always on

Hello Smokey, I'm definitely a 'bloke'. An old bloke, too, 69 in December. Not too old, and certainly not young, but just right for my age. hehe

What a pleasure to find this wonderful site. I hope I last long enough to see each section and wallow in all the offers. So much to see and so little time.

I don't mean I'm dying! I mean, there's so much of John Wayne, I'll need a long time to browse through it all.

My absolute respect to the members and the staff, and Kevin, too. We can't forget him. Thanks for all your hard work.
