Yes Chester everything went well thank you. I'm ready for fall. I love September and October the most.
I think it would be a good idea to email members we haven't heard from in awhile.
    The smilies are adorable.

Yes, I'd have to say that I too watched westerns with my family mostly on the weekends. I was 9 when John Wayne passed away. I always looked forward to see one of his movies on t.v.. I too never had cable t.v. until maybe 6 years ago. I live out in the sticks so it's still fascinating to me to see all of the different programs. The computer also didn't come into my home until 4years ago. I just think it is so neat to be able to communicate with other Wayne fans.

    Hi!
One scene I think of right away is when Sean finds MaryKate in his cottage(The Quiet Man) and tells her there are some things a man can't forget and goes on to tell her.
The other scene I like is from The Searchers when Ethan is riding through the Indian camp flying really fast. I think man that has to hurt. The ending of True Grit is also a favorite. It brings tears to my eyes also.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing about men being sexist. It always sounds like women are saints. I am a woman and I do not feel that Dukes movies were sexist. I like watching a real man so I watch John Wayne. As for women being offended all they have to do is turn the tube off.
    Thanks,

    Hi all!
I've had a very busy summer. I've been running in every direction. We've had vacation, county fair and horse shows. I'm sure I've missed alot. Don't worry I haven't left.

    Hi Angie,
I guess by now you know that Michael has passed away and Toni passed away also, of cancer back in 2000 or 2001. I did read where Ethan had played some roles in certain Soap Operas I don't remember which one. It wasn't one that I watch. I read also that Patrick will turn 65 in July but, I haven't found out what he has been doing. Melinda I'm not sure of either. I keep thinking they are still young. We forget how fast time flies. I still can't picture the Duke in his nineties.
    Have a good one,

    Hi all!
I haven't been on for a little while. Does anyone know what Patrick Wayne is doing? Is he doing any producing or directing?
    Curious,
    Little Duke

Ethan you're probably right. Like I said I went back and forth with the movie, I don't think I even saw the beginning of the movie. I don't watch too much of todays programs and movies anyway. I received the movie Space Cowboys for Christmas because I never got to the movie theater to see it when it came out. What a great movie. I love the actors in it anyway. The old actors just seem so much more rugged or manly I guess.
    Glad to hear from ya,
    Little Duke

The movie was okay. I went back and forth from that to other programs. It cracked me up to see the man from The Natural in it with a wig on. His name is on the tip of my tongue. He's been in so many films it's William or Walter something like that. I knew it was him before I could see his face. His voice is unique. I feel like I'm betraying the Duke when I watch new westerns. I'm sorry they are just not the same.

    Hi there!
Actually Aissa was also in Donovan's Reef. She was among the children in the Chrstmas play. I couldn't pick her out but she was one of the little angels. They were in white gowns or robes. It's nice to talk to other John Wayne fans!
    Have a great day,
    Little Duke

    Good Evening,
I believe she either broke her wrist or sprained it. Duke considered her one of the guys so I'm sure she whispered something that wasn't shocking to him. She was one of the guys but yet at the same time a lady.
    Enjoy the weekend,
    LittleDuke

    Hi there!

I'm not much for the new westerns. For one thing most of the leading men have done other types of movies and you can tell that they are trying to act tough and rugged. It's not the same as the old westerns. I think that is what made John Wayne so unique. He was who he was no matter where he was or what type of movie he was making. He never changed.
I can't imagine him though in his 90's. I like to remember him before his final illness.

    Thanks,
