Cave of Outlaws.
Really good non star driven western with some amazing filming in the caves.
-
I love the rapport in this between Connery and Caine, the fast talking witty dialogue is excellent.
I'm amazed The man who would be king isn't better remembered. It was nominated for 4 oscars and it's still breathtaking to watch now!

More activity is always a positive aslong as nobody is negatively affected IMO.
Agreed.I must admit to being amazed having been away so long that some of this stuff is still going on!

Sierra.
Audie Murphy, Burl Ives, Dean Jagger. -
The man who would be king.
They don't make films like that anymore! Kipling story, John Huston directing with Sean Connery and Michael Caine starring at the height of their fame. A quality affair -
It's good to be missed!
Life and work pretty much took over and I simply haven't had time to make any proper contribution to the forum.
Hopefully as things settle down, I'm learning to delegate: miracle, I'll be able to rekindle my inane banter!

Anyone know what happened to Dooley? He was very active for awhile but haven't seen him around in months, hope all is well with him.
Spooky timing. I've just logged back in after a very, very long time! I'm still around, family has grown bigger and Duke is still a constant in my film watching. How are you?

The Texican with Audie Murphy.
Found this one seriously average. -
Legend of the Lost on Blu ray.
Fantastic transfer and so vivid in places it almost looks 3D!
If you like the film I would highly recommend getting it. -
Damn that is truly amazing! I cannot wait to see all of these.
To date I've only watched the first 3 blu ray releases of the Mesquiteers series and all 3 were wonderful.
With all these other releases coming think and fast, I'll have to focus my film buying addiction purely on Olive films! -
These releases are coming thick and fast! What with the Criterion 50% off sale and the Olive releases I know what you mean Paula about an aching wallet! Thanks for the updates as ever.
-
Great stills. Yet another Western I haven't seen! I love Coburn and Hackman so it must be worth watching!
-
Ramrod on blu ray over a month ago! Joel McRae, always watchable
-
Nice stills. Never seen it, sounds like I need to!

Thanks for update Paula. Wake of the red witch will be interesting. Still waiting to see what The Quiet man and the other olive JW blu rays are like. I haven't got mine yet!
-
Lincoln; finally. Dark, long and verbose but still managed to have an element of drama and suspense. Very we'll crafted film
-
Jubal is a really understated film. Almost more of a noir drama than a western. Be interesting to see how good the transfer is
