Please can anyone help? Does anyone know if "The Undefeated" and "North To Alaska" are region free or region locked. Hoping to get them for someones christmas, and would think that they won't be released in the UK, anytime soon. Thank you.

Thank you for that I may well have to invest in a Region free player. On a happier note it would appear that " The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" is to be released in the UK on Blu ray, with a US release at some point. I also hear although cannot confirm yet, that " El Dorado" and "The Sons of Katie Elder" may be released on Blu ray in the USA, this year. This might be worth me confirming with my contact at Paramount, but I am hopeful.

Can anyone help please, who has the distribution rights for The Quiet Man, in the UK. I have attempted to contact Universal directly but they never reply. The recent Olive release was Region A only, so am hoping we will get a release, this side of the Atlantic at some point. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry if this is the wrong area for this question. I have contacted Olive films directly, but as yet they have not got back to me. So out of desperation I hope someone can help me, is The Quiet Man region free or is it, as I fear region locked. I have been looking forward to this release for ages, so if you can help a very anxious Scotsman I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

It would seem that "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" is to be released on Blu-ray in Germany, is this correct? Hopefully not long till it gets released in the USA, and will hopefully be region free. Anyone from the UK feeling like we are missing out on all these Blu-ray releases lately?

There appears to be a few books coming out this year, I thought I was aware of all of them! Then I noticed on amazon this book "When the legend became fact-The true life of John Wayne" by Richard Douglas Jensen. Anybody know anything about this book and author? I ask because I was contemplating ordering this. Thanks for any help in this matter.

Kind of ashamed to admit this but I only very recently saw this film for the first time. Enjoyed it greatly, another very fine performance I do tire of hearing about how Duke couldn't act. This is yet another example (and as we know there are many) of how JW was a very fine actor. The film did seem to end rather abruptly and you were left hoping things worked out, with his family.

I have heard internet rumblings about The Shootist and The Quiet Man being released on Blu-Ray this year, any truth to this? These films deserve a decent release with as many extras as possible, but so do many of Duke's films. The release of Hondo in June ( and hopefully soon after in the UK) fills me with hope that more and more films will be released on this format.

So looking forward to this book being published by the estate of JW. I have high hopes that we will get a rare insight into the Big fellow, and see photo's that have not been seen before. Perhaps an opportunity to also answer alot of the garbage that has been written over the years. I don't think it is going to be that kind of book though. What hopes do others have for this book? Does anyone know the date it is to be release, I have various dates but would like a definitive one? Any information or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have only just joined, thought I would say Hi! I live in Scotland, and I am 43 years old. My grandmother introduced me to Duke when I was 8, have loved him ever since. It is a pleasant change to find somewhere on the web, that doesn't have an anti John Wayne sentiment. How brave they are when he is no longer around to speak for himself. This site appears to be populated by genuine fans, who do not appear to judge, but who embrace Duke faults and all. I may well have found home. Look forward to getting to know you all, and have many questions that you can hopefully answer. Thank you.
