Hey there, I have a friend who recently purchased a Winchester rifle made in the 1940's. This rifle has a plaque on the buttstock with a poem on it. Local rumor has it that John Wayne gave this rifle as a gift to Robert Mitchum. Trying to find anyone who can help verify this, such as a member of John Waynes' family. If you have any contact information, please email me at [email protected]. Thanks

Send me the serial & model numbers, it will be a place to start. Least we'll find out when it was made.

silent_serenade,
Welcome to the John Wayne Message Board.
REASR is quite knowledgeable when it comes to firearms and can possibly be a big help to you. Another member who might be able to assist is Chilibill (user name William T Brooks). He owns a couple of firearms that belonged to the Duke, and might have some knowledge of yours.
Come back again, don't be a stranger.
