Hi Stumpy, I agree with you. My family and I visited Tombstone in 1981 I think? Back then it still resembled the way it was 100 years ago. One thing I remember vividly was that there was a Saloon I went into and was able to order a Saspirilla. I thought it was the best drink I ever had. I ordered a 2nd Saspirilla and spoiled myself and did not eat dinner.
Anyway, it is a shame at what is going on.

Ditto Stumpy....I agree. Didn't things used to alot simpler or did it just seem that way because we were kids? I wish a lot of things from our yesterdays hadn't of changed. Here are some lyrics, I don't know if this is the song you are thinking of but I think it says the same things. It is Tim McGraw's Back When.
Don't you remember
The fizz in a pepper
Peanuts in a bottle
At ten, two and four
A fried bologna sandwich
With mayo and tomato
Sittin' round the table
Don't happen much anymoreWe got too complicated
It's all way over-rated
I like the old and out-dated
Way of lifeBack when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back whenI love my records
Black, shiny vinyl
Clicks and pops
And white noise
Man they sounded fine
I had my favorite stations
The ones that played them all
Country, soul and rock-and-roll
What happened to those times?I'm readin' Street Slang For Dummies
Cause they put pop in my country
I want more for my money
The way it was back thenBack when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back whenGive me a flat top for strumming
I want the whole world to be humming
Just keep it coming
The way it was back thenBack when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back whenBaby Sis

That's not the song I was thinking of but it has the same sentiments. And I agree with them wholeheartedly.
I came of age in the Fifties and until the day I die, I shall always think of that decade as the "Golden Years" because for me at least, life then was wonderful and so much simpler.

That's not the song I was thinking of but it has the same sentiments.I've searched my memory and if I remember correctly, the song I'm thinking of was sung by a folk singer named Glenn Yarbrough back in the early Sixties. It seems to me that Glenn Campbell and Jimmie Rodgers also had songs with the same title and during the same time frame.
