Saw: The Shootise on Sunday and then just this morn on TCM: Red River. Other than that, still watching Season Nr. 3 of Daniel Boone.
BTW, if anyone here likes the Daniel Boone TV show besides me, season three has been an excellent one so far. Im on Disc Nr. 5 (of so far. I'd rate in order of l-r the best seasons so far-and that I have: 1,3,2-next will be season 4 later this month or early next month. Season 1 & 3, have had some good Grit in them but, season 2 was a bit Disneyish-and therefore IMO, not as good as it could have been. -
"Vera Cruz" (1954)
-Gary Cooper, Burt LancasterAfter the American Civil War, mercenaries travel to Mexico to fight in their revolution for money. The former soldier and gentleman Benjamin Trane meets the gunman and killer Joe Erin and his men, and together they are hired by the Emperor Maximillian and the Marquis Henri de Labordere to escort the Countess Marie Duvarre to the harbor of Vera Cruz. Ben and Erin find that the stagecoach is transporting US$ 3,000,000.00 in gold hidden below the seat and they scheme to steal it. Along their journey, betrayals and incidents happen changing their initial intentions.
Great movie. Fast paced action, terrific acting and a good plot make this one enjoyable film. I loved it.

"Major Dundee" with Charlton Heston and Richard Harris and a host of recognizable character actors. Watched the revised version which seemed a little slow in parts.

Hi Jay, I could not stand that "new Musical Score" that came with the revised edition. Glad the DvD I have lets me choose which music I want to listen to while watching the movie. They did the same thing to The Big Red One-and every weapon sounds exactly the wame when firing-they all sound like someone "spitting." -
The Legend Of Butch And Sundance" (2004)
- David Clayton Rogers, Ryan BrowningJust before the turn of the Century two young outlaws team up for a historic ride. Based on historical references, the "True Story" of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Much to my surprise, this was a pretty good little movie. Apparently it was originally a TV pilot that didn't sell and is now out on DVD. Some good action and humor. Not as good as the classic Redford-Newman film but a little better then "Butch And Sundance: The Early Years".

"Louis L'Amour's Crossfire Trail" (2001)
-Tom Selleck, Virginia MadsenA wandering cowboy makes a promise to a dying friend to help the man's widow hold onto their ranch in the lawless Wyoming Territory. But when oil is discovered on the land, the unsuspecting hero must contend not only with the widow who is suspicious of his motives, but also with ruthless men plotting to seize the ranch. Based on the novel by Louis L'Amour.
This just a good old fashioned western. Plenty of action, good story. a fine hero and a beautiful leading lady. Theres even a villian all in black.
Directed by Simon Wincer who also directed "Lonesome Dove" and "Quigley Down Under". This is a fine entertaining film. -
Some James Stewart Western was on TCM this morning but, I didn't catch it's title. It also starred Arthur Kennedy and Harry Morgan (THE Harry Morgan that was Col. Sherman T. Potter on M*A*S*H.).
