  • The Horse Saddle Shop Celebrates 100 Years of John Wayne with Circle Y's Commemorative Saddle

Bremen, IN (PRWeb) February 4, 2007 -- HorseSaddleShop.com is proud to offer the new John Wayne Commemorative Saddle to honor the man who loved his country and strove to epitomize American ideals.
John Wayne himself said it the best as Ringo Kid in Stagecoach: "Well, there are some things a man just can't run away from." The Horse Saddle Shop is proud to announce one of those things: the John Wayne Commemorative Saddle at http://www.horsesaddleshop.com/john-wayne-saddle.html. Built to honor the icon of the American cowboy, the John Wayne saddle is just as beautiful as the memory of John Wayne and everything he stood for.

John Wayne is a part of American History because he was much more than just a famous actor. In his own lifetime, he became a lasting image of American values and ideals. Deeply patriotic, John Wayne was careful to lend his talent to characters and opportunities that stood for what he believed in. He set the standard for the rugged masculinity associated with the American cowboy and soldier. It's no surprise that in 1999 the American Film Insitute named John Wayne one of the Greatest Male Stars of All Time. In 2007 the Harris Poll placed John Wayne in the third spot in a list of America's favorite film stars.
To honor John Wayne's legacy, Wayne Enterprises chose Circle Y, America's leading saddle brand, to create a fitting tribute. One of the most recognizable brands in the industry, Circle Y has a long-standing reputation for building quality saddles for a variety of western horse disciplines. Mark Jemelka, manager of Circle Y saddles, explains:
"We named this saddle the 'Courage' saddle because we felt we captured the spirit of John Wayne. John Wayne remains one of the most recognizable names in film history because he was truly a man, and a movie star, who exemplified 'courage, strength, and grit.' American history was built by conquering the West, and John Wayne starred in over one hundred western films."
Ethan Wayne, son of John Wayne and managing member of Wayne Enterprises, stated that "from his work in films to raising Hereford cattle at his 26 Bar Ranch in Arizona, my dad always appreciated the necessity of a quality saddle in his life, and Circle Y was an obvious choice to make this great saddle."
The saddle is modeled after John Wayne's own saddle on display at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. As part of an exclusive list of dealers, The Horse Saddle Shop proudly offers the saddle, which is under limited production, for collectors, John Wayne fans, and western enthusiasts.
The saddle is truly a work of art and demonstrates Circle Y's amazing attention to detail. It is made from the finest materials and even includes a leather braided riata. A hand-tooled floral pattern covers the entire saddle, including the engraved brass rigging. Sterling silver Mexican Pesos adorn the saddle as conchos. The cantle back has a custom silver and gold saddle plate noting the individual collector's edition number of the John Wayne saddle, ensuring authenticity. Additionally, collectors will receive a plaque with personalization of the saddle to its owner, a custom crafted wood saddle stand, informative DVD, and book about John Wayne's film history.
In an age where patriotism and rigidly standing for ideals is unpopular, The Horse Saddle Shop is proud to offer a tribute to a man who knew better. After all, "courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway."
