  • Next Terminator film set for 2009

California governor Schwarzenegger has starred in all three Terminators

Production on the fourth instalment in the Terminator film series will begin next year ahead of a 2009 release.
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins will be the first in a proposed trilogy of films reinventing the cyborg saga.
Derek Anderson, of production company Halycon, has told industry newspaper Variety the film will be "set in the future" during "a full-scale war".
The Terminator brand is currently being revived on US television with the Sarah Connor Chronicles series.
Lena Headey plays Sarah Connor, a role previously played by Linda Hamilton in the first two Terminator films directed by James Cameron.
    'Fresh new world'
Former actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, now governor of California, last played the series' robotic protagonist in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
According to Variety, however, it is unclear whether he will appear in the new film.
"We've left it open for him to maybe do a cameo," said producer Moritz Borman. "The final decision will be based on his desire and availability."
Warner Brothers have acquired North American distribution rights to the fourth Terminator film, which it plans to release in summer 2009.
"The intention is to present a fresh new world and have this be the first of a trilogy," said Borman.

  • maybe they are trying to milk a dead cow.i have no great interest in another terninator movie. but what do i know i thought 8 track tape were the thing of the futher.

  • Actually, I thought the 3rd Terminator movie was stupid. Like Jim/Sue, I can't see how another trilogy and also agree wiht Bill, I think they're milking a dead cow.

  • While the third movie was the weakest it did sort of complete the circle of events.

I agree they are milking it for what as much as it is worth. Cant see Arnie being in the shape for more than a cameo appearance.

  • Give me a break. This was suppose to end with the second. I barely stayed with the second and Linda Hamilton kept the movies together. Didn't see the third and don't want to. I did see a little of it, and grew bored.

    So no more please!!!

    Cheers

  • these numberless remakes remind me of a very funny film(what about bob) when pschiatrist richard dreyuss can't get rid of his patient bill murray as he tries to get him to leave his vaction home.as he escort's him out the door and closes it. he turns to his family and shouts he doen't leave see (as he reopens it and bill still there) see he never leaves.
