Maverick (1957-1962)

I actually enjoyed Kelly as much, if not more, than Garner. I didn't watch the show til after Garner left, so Kelly was the main focus. After awhile they brought in Roger Moore and Brent Colbert as Garner replacements (for the same reason Kelly was originally brought in-one actor couldn't handle all the episodes).

Maverick Episode 9 Stampede, really fun episode with a boxing theme, the writing on this show is very good for the time, clever and funny with enough action thrown in.

Maverick Rage for Vengeance featured John Russell of Rio Bravo fame, was a good episode about a woman trying to avenge her husbands death, quite violent for an episode of Maverick but I absolutely love this series. Try to watch just 1 or 2 a week to make it last me awhile.

Maverick Rope of Cards, another great episode of this fantastic show, this one had a really good supporting cast and reminded me of 12 Angry Men, apparently the day after it aired the whole country sold out of playing cards!

Been watching more Maverick lately, iv'e come round to Jack Kelly alot recently, especially enjoy the episodes that feature both he and Garner.

I learned about a week ago that Hollyweird is releasing (or has released) the complete Season 2 in Region 1 so naturally, I immediately ordered it from Amazon. Will have it next week sometime and can hardly wait.

If I remember correctly, Jim Garner had a clash with the studio producing Maverick and left after the third season. Since he was my favorite in the series, I won't be buying succeeding seasons.

Yeah Stumpy they replaced him with Roger Moore and then Robert Colbert, I still have season 3 of Maverick to watch but after that I won't be watching anymore either probably as I too favor Garner, probably worth nothing that Garner does appear in the Season 4 episode The Maverick Line which was filmed at some time during the third season but not aired until later.

Maverick The Ghost Soldiers, kind of an unusual episode as it moved away from the town to town theme, but still very funny while still managing to be serious.

James Garner died. I always liked him. He never gave a bad performance.

another great actor has died.loved his tv series rockford files and maverick and he's westerns,he will be missed.RIP James (Rockford) Garner

Was a huge fan of Mr. Garner. A sad loss

I always thought James Garner was a terrific actor. R.I.P.

I always enjoyed his Support Your local Sheriff and Support Your Local Gunfighter movies. Rest in Peace, Mr. Garner.
