Books About Duke

It will be available in Germany these days I suppose. Two fellow collectors put it together with the publisher - over 2000 photos are in this heavy thing. I don't know, 10 pounds or whatever. It's really heavy. I'm not a big fan of the publisher - the writing is not that great (won't affect non-German readers of course) and due to the fact that the books has 609+ pages, the paper is too thin for my taste. I supported them with approx 200 LC's missing in their collections anyway...
I have a spare copy, in case somebody has too much money and really wants it (overseas shipping will cost a fortune). The official price is Euro 50,00.- ($70,00-75,00.-)

The basic content is the German promo material. Almost all posters and LC's used by the distributors from 1949 - 1977! So from that standpoint it's fantastic. If you check my poster thread you'll find a lot of that stuff and see, that the German sets andefforts were really something. BIG LC - sets, a lot of different artworks... A unique display of 30 years of collecting. Quite something.

WOW! Mike, thanks for all those photos of the book! I would think the book would be a real gem to a German fan/collector of things John Wayne (others, too, of course). It looks pretty impressive!

Stuntman!: My Car-Crashing, Plane-Jumping, Bone-Breaking, Death-Defying Hollywood Life. A new Book by stuntman Hal Needham. Probably more famous for his collaborations with Burt Reynolds in the 70s and 80s, he also worked often with Duke.

Looks like a great read, but one of the "blurbs" I read had a comment from Hal stating he taught Duke how to throw a movie punch(?!).
