  • Dear Dukewayne Forum Friends,

February 14-21, 2011 are the dates for the For the Love of Film Noir blogathon. This is the second year we've had a For Love of Film Blogathon, and last year's efforts raised thousands of dollars for the Film Preservation Foundation.

This year's blogathon is called For the Love of Film Noir, and all funds raised by movie bloggers will go to the Film Noir Foundation's restoration and preservation of Cy Endfield's The Sound of Fury (1950).

The blogathon is being hosted by the Self-Styled Siren (http://selfstyledsiren.blogspot.com/) and Ferdy on Films (http://ferdyonfilms.com). Go to either site for all the information including links to the Film Noir Foundation, all the participating bloggers, and where to donate.

For my contribution, I screencapped all of On Dangerous Ground, a really wonderful noir-cum-romance starring Pal of the Saddle Robert Ryan, Ida Lupino, and Pal of the Saddle Ward Bond, directed by Nicholas Ray. If you'd like to see the screencaps for On Dangerous Ground, go to Paula's Movie Page and click on the Noir section.

Another Ford veteran is Charles Kemper as "Pops." Kemper played the eeee-vil Shiloh Clegg in Wagon Master.

Here are a few screencaps which I hope will tempt you to visit -- and to donate. The Duke would donate! I'm sure of it. :)
